For a new shooter and a young lad id try a Weihrauch HW 95K. They are not as heavy as most of the HW series but are deadly accurate and full power and will last a life time with no problems. Thats if you want to hunt friend. My 8 year old did shoot my 95k when he was with me before i sold it. He also used my old BSA Lightning XL and handled that ok. XL's can be problem guns though and are no where near as smooth as the HW series. Zini

Artur, I have spent quite abit of time over in Poland in Drawsko Pomoski with my work. I have hunted and fished there at least 3 years on the trott. The hunting is very good there, far better than in the UK. I envie you mate. The wild boar seem to get massive over there and there is deer everywhere. The last time i was there, 2 years ago there was a big problem with rabbies in the area and the goverment had put down rabbies pellets for rthe foxes to eat. Hopefully that problem is not so bad now mate. Dont worry your English is good enough for people to understand what you are try

Cheers Bullmastiff, Due to the size of the land and me having more than i ever need, Ive also invited Festa down for a bit of hunting with his Air Arms ProSport. Theres plenty of vermin to shoot so its better that i help out other regulars on here and give them the chance to have the same pleasure and sport as i have had here since March 09. Got these bunnies tonight just after i went and checked my squirrel traps. No squirrels as yet Zini

Help needed. Whats the best bait for catching squirrels?
zini replied to zini's topic in Snaring, Trapping & Pest Control
Thanks guys, chocolate seems funny but i know rats and mice love it so i guess squirrels do to. -
Hi guys, girls, Can someome on here with plenty of trapping experience please tell me whats the best bait is for catching grey GREY squirrels in a cage trap? I have caught them before but am no expert. I used mais and bird peanuts but that was when the leaves were not on the trees and the tree rats were feeding more off the ground. On a area where i shoot there is lots of tree rats but they seem to be eating seeds fron the trees at the moment high up in the branches. Is there a good attractant that i could use to lure them to my trap? I have heard in the past people saying that

Should do Davy, theres plenty to hunt and enough land to keep us busy for a while. There is one area not on the photos that i hunted over in March last. You need a key to get into this part and it hasnt seen a human since i was there last. Its about the size of 6 footcall pitches and houses some small private ponds that just do nothing anymore, ie noone fishes them and they have become a wildlife haven. I managed to get 18 rabbits in a 2 hour period last time with the gun and a few ferrets. I also assisted a couple of friends digging there. A good bit of land that me and Wuzzy will hav

Ok Davy, You have had your say and i have had mine. Everyone is entitled to a say. Freedom of speach and all that. I hear your point friend, but I can only write what i know 100% from my experiences and not what others tell me from their friends, friends, friends experience, If you see where im coming from Davy. It happens a lot on here rest assured. The earlier comment wasnt aimed at anyone in particular friend. If it was aimed at you i would of sent it to you. I dont do the dirty mate behind peoples backs. Not my style. Best hunting. Lets let it drop now Regards Zin

Look guys. The gun does the job perfectlyb well and humainly for close range fox. There is far too many so called EXPERTS on this site that like to write what they think and not what is really true. The game keepers a Police Officer and he has all the ness ticks in the right places on his licence to cover what he needs to shoot with his gun "fox etc". Some of the land dictates that a large calibre gun would not be suitable so thats why he uses his rimfire. When he sees foxes he squeeks them in to a close range and then shoots them humainly. Whats the point of shooting a fox a

Guys, A new member comes onto this site showing you what he hunts and his dogs and all you can do is make rude fun of him and his countrymen. Dont tar every Pole with the same brush as the ones that steal your fish etc. Have some respect for new members and stop all the wee taking. Welcome Artur and thanks for posting the pictures Zini.

I will do Festa. Im going to make a good quality digital video soon with Wuzzy when he comes up. Wuzzy can shoot and ill video him in action. Ill then edit it and post it on youtube with a link for everyone on here that is interested. Zini.

Wuzzy, Here is just some of my permission friend, just to give you a idea of what we will be shooting over soon. I took the camera out today and had a quick 10 minute drive around, nothing more before setting my squirrel traps. The weather hasnt been up to much today so there was not as many rabbits out as usual but still enough for any hunter to be happy with. What you see here friend you can times by 20 or 30 on a good sunny evening Hopefully tomorrow or some time this week when the tree rats find the mix of peanut butter, mais, peanuts with pheasant feed mixed in my terr

Thanks all the offer has now ended i have a new partner. Welcome Wuzzy

A rimfire using sub sonic ammo is more than enough friend. Ask the many foxes that have been shot over the past couple of weeks on the permission.

John, I'm looking for someone who shoots a air rifle friend. I have edited the thread now to show this. Zini.

Gizzit, thats a lovely looking pup friend. She looks like she is going to be a strong bitch with plenty of grit judging from the last picture. Best of look with her. Zini.

Hi all, I am a 36 year old mature and experienced air rifle hunter. I have permission on around 5 miles of land in Catterick, North Yorkshire. I am looking for a shooting partner, who shoots an air rifle to share my permission with. The person needs to be mature, have good morals, be responsible and have respect for the countryside and the vermin we will be shooting. I work in my own time and assist a very good game keeper who is also in the North Yorkshire armed response unit. I shoot rabbit, crow and squirrel for him when ever i can leaving him to control the many foxes with his ri

Thankyou John Looks a good thread.

Hi all, I just thought that id post the designs of my squirrel traps that i have been making today. I have had success with these designs in the past so dont really differ from them much. Part of my shoot is over run with tree rats and with the game keeper having his pheasants pend i though that i would give him a helping hand by putting out some traps and hopefully stopping some of the tree rats stealing the pheasant grain. I also intend to take up my GunPower Storm and nail some when the leaves start to clear off the trees. Ive taken photos of the trigger mech i have designed. I alwa

I aggree with Andy friend. Both guns are top class springers. Ive owned a HW97K and they are more accurate than most people can shoot them. They are a little heavy but i think this aids the accuracy. If i was you friend id buy the Weirauch if you dont mind carrying a heavier rifle. Regards Zini.

A springer will definately be your best choice friend. This i say for 2 reasons. Firstly im not sure on your shooting ability but a springer will definatley learn you to shoot shtraight or straighter, they teach you the basics of the marksmans principles and the need for correct follow through and trigger control to aid accuracy. Secondly you can buy some quality springers / combos cheap if you look around this site or visit your local shop for second hand rifles. If i was you and you have the money go for a second hand Weihrauch. A HW 95K would be my first choice. They are lite but a
