A Competition Idea For The Thlf July Meet.
zini replied to zini's topic in General Airgun Discussion
That's great news Aaron. Hopefully there will be many springers there. Are you considering using the SFS 97 this year for HFT bud? I think with the way you shoot it you could seriously do very well mate. I've just calibrated the .177 HW97KT properly that i got off Phil and started using it for a bit of target and vermin shooting. With AA Fields at 4.52 mm its really really accurate. At 50 meters over 5 shots of my now shot and broken F1 chrono it had a total spread of just 7 fps with 6.6 FPE remaining . It now hits map pins at 50 meters pretty consistently (2 out of 5 sho -

Hi there, In this episode of VHTV both myself and Davy are at one of our permissions which is a business park on an industrial estate somewhere in the south west of England. We are back there on request from the business park manager as the rabbit and pigeon population have risen again causing damage to the newly planted flowers, shrubs and baby trees. Due to this fact he wanted them all thinning out. Armed with 4 different Sandwell Field Sport tuned spring piston rifles in both calibres plus 2 .177 pcps for the night time and our lamps and night vision we set about thinning ou

A Competition Idea For The Thlf July Meet.
zini replied to zini's topic in General Airgun Discussion
I don't think that there is a need to split PCP and springer Aaron. After watching some of the members shoot their springers last weekend at Old Downs they all have a great chance of doing just as well as some of the PCP dedicated shooters. The ranges are known so there is no guess work involved. I think we can make the shooting position what ever the shooter feels comfy shooting in, i.e prone, sitting, kneeling or standing, but the PCP lads cant use a bipod or hamster. Its all off palm shooting. Its all just down to the skill of the shooter and his combo then. At the end w -
A Competition Idea For The Thlf July Meet.
zini replied to zini's topic in General Airgun Discussion
I think the meet is now going to be at the same location as the AA meet was now. Not far from Bolton. Rivington rifles club. -
Hi lads, While i was staining the stock on my new to me (but second hand) HW80 today and waiting for it to dry i decided to assist Davy by knocking up a contraption for the THLF July meet to use as one of the competitions. In the picture I'm using milk bottle tops to demonstrate the idea, but in the comp it will be Extra Strong mints. I think this will be fun set out at 40 meters in the first rounds, 50 meters in the semifinals and 60 meters in the final. 4 targets and 8 shots per person. If its a draw then it will be sudden death on a spinner that ill attach to the wooded

zini replied to davyt63's topic in General Airgun Discussion
Good on you Davy for sorting this out for the members. Si. -
One of the best springers on the market mate. A real deal at that price if mint and not tampered with. They are very popular and for a reason mate. Best of luck with it. Si.

Brilliant Nigel. Its great to see a friend finally find a rifle he really gels with. I think since you sold the Ultra and bought the 97KT your shooting as come on leaps and bounds and you seem to be hitting just about everything you shoot. Really pleased for you mate. Si.

Sounds like between you, you are going to have a brilliant setup rifle Skot. Ive been reading this with interest as my .177 HW97KT as settled now and bedded in at 11.4 FPE with AA Fields and im thinking im going to get it taken down to between 10 and 10.5 FPE. Going off your calculations if I take off 3/4 of a coil my rifle will go from 11.4 to 10 FPE. Si.

Try and Google a how to strip a HW97KT mate. I watched it done and its really easy. If you can get the spring out you could send it through the post to one of the members on here to get a coil removed or remove one yourself. I know DavyT63 may be able to help you if you ask him. He as done 3 of my rifles now by removing a coil. To get the rifle shooting at its best for hunting and HFT together you would be best getting it set around 10 FPE to 10.5 max mate.
-
No full credit to him. Thats the best i have ever seen him shoot a springer. He was on fire.
-
Yeah u remember that Aaron. Davy was a smelly beast that morning. I thought my tent was going to implode.
-
Best of luck with it Mac. I like the Hawke range of scopes.
-
Congratulations Darryl bud. That's cracking news . I look forward to watching some GHTV FAC episodes now. Si.

My .22 SFS S2 HW97KT is accurate with H & F FTT at 5.53 mm Other pellet brands that i also find good in the .22 is Webley Accupells. My .177 SFS S2 HW97KT is accurate with AA Fields at 4.52 mm and Webley Accupells. As your rifle beds in the barrel may like different pellet brands. Power will change accuracy in a barrel with certain pellets brands. You may find that a lower power likes a softer skirt. I would defo give Falcon AP a try once your rifle is bedded in. A little bird tells me that the SFS S3 will not be long out now. I think its going to be called the FT3.

I can see that we might well get some tent sharing at the next THL meet, that is until Si calls and Davy will dump you . Roger I saw the twinkle that you had in your eye for Davy at the wedding when he was all suited and booted . I secretly think that you have a tiny lump in your pants for him . Back to the thread "sorry VM" . Yes Davy is a top bloke .

Thats got to be awesome kinetic power to do that mate. Very humane and I bet they were lights out as soon as the bullet connected. Good shooting Elliott mate. You walk in the butchers with them and the shop will empty lol.

Nice one Mick. Good to see members helping out members.

Glevum Club And Gloucester County Range With Si & Phil
zini replied to zini's topic in General Airgun Discussion
Yes thats right Scramble. Its on Davy's recommendations as I seem to mess the 5th shot up sometimes and thats not the rifles fault that i cant shoot to its accuracy. We now work on the principle of once is luck, twice is a fluke but 3 times is matter of fact. If I was a better shot I would do 5 or 10 shot groups and the rifle would still go under a 5p but im not that good.
