  1. this "Air Gun Certificate" sounds alrite aslong as theres no ft/lb restriction, but if they do pass a new license just for 12 ft/lb is anyone realy going get one?
  2. I dont know, it it looks like alot of convictions but what are they realy? balling and shouting in the street 3 times with anal neighbours and pushing your girl friend into a wall which she may be able play down they dont sound that serious to me, hopfuly you'll be able talk to your FAO and convince them your a well rounded individual but on paper it doesn't look promising.
  3. good shooting mate, its always nice to get out with the camera. its like 'catch and release' of the shooting world =)
  4. tried saddlery but had nothing in, cheers anyway looks like guntrader's my best bet, the guns shop im looking at is on holiday till next week tho lol thanks guys.
  5. iv been round the mossberg uk dealers and no one has one in stock, apart from a single section 1 which i dont have a license for. I think this might have somthing to do with the gun scare in america so if anyone knows a place, let us know.
  6. you dont need a hide, they only realy pick up movment (short sighted and colour blind). If you know the hot spots just wait within range and if you can down range and they'll come. when out with the shotgun i just walk round till i see one dart into the hedge row and just wait there til it comes out again. they could be out in 5 minutes to half an hour or they could just call it a night and go sleep [edit] I like your choice of dog
  7. i think its normal to have them send it you in the post, but mine didn't say i could hav a sgc on the day but i do have a record, no convictions, just a record...
  8. just look in last months mag, it changes every month. sporting shooter is out on the 4th of june and is the 'july' addition
  9. you will have to come up with a NEED for a shotgun, they dont just give them to city folk for protection any more. i dont see a problem as you already have a good reason by already shooting rabbits and pigeons so your "need" would be for vermin. firing at pigeons is little risk but you'll have to watch what is behind hedge rows when the rabbits pop out, especialy as fox cartridges can hold there energy over yards and more
  10. just a mobile phone and a gun cartridge belt and ear muffs if im taking the shotgun. and a knife and a bag if im feeling lucky
  11. .50 BMG? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.50_BMG#Parti...50_BMG_firearms more for stoping vehicles than foxes
  12. a buzzard could of done that in minutes but probably would of ate the feet aswell, did you actualy see the crow? cus it looks like it had a right feast =)
  13. good job mate, dont worry about rabbits biting you it never happens. i had to shoot one twice myself yesterday, if one is standing after its been shot i forget about the meat and just shoot it again, i made this rule after one jumped straight out of my hands and ran away, by the time i had reloaded it had gone. I still skinned and gutted that rabbit, it wasn't pleasant but atleast i salvaged half a rabbit lol
  14. is it legal for a gunsmith to shorten a shotguns barrel to 24"s? if so, can they tighen the choke aswell? how much would this cost?
  15. you can get a mossberg 500 pump for 350 new. im not sure of the prices of second hand guns but I find a double barrel shotgun the best for hunting, you can keep a barrel with a tight choke with larger shot for distant rabbits/hares or larger game birds while keeping a open choke with 6's for bolting rabbits and smaller birds dig deep and get a O/U you wont be disapointed with a semi-auto tho. a pump might piss you off by manualy cycling every round but if you can put up with it, it'll save you alot of money [edit] oh and remember a semi-suto/pump's reciever will add about 4 inchs to th
  16. cheers claybuster I'm going use this set up with a full choke to reach out for these rabbits that like sitting in the middle of fields and maybe abit of lamping. the red dot sight might give me abit more accuracy for these long range shots
  17. I've seen shell carriers which you can screwe onto the side of your reciever and weaver rails where you can attach red dot sights or night vision to your shotgun, these require drilling and i was wondering if these are legal for me or a gun smith to attach? I'm also interested in stocks like this one are these legal for a gunsmith attach? I live in england btw and any help would be appreciated
