  1. Thank you all very much for your help and comments. Have just found a fine s/h TX200 MkIII - fiddly to load, but a lovely rifle too, so I shall be happy with that for a while I think. Cheers all, Mike
  2. Again, thanks to all of you for your helpful replies! Hopefully I'll be sorted in a week or so. Cheers.
  3. I was in exactly the same position myself six months back, did all the research on here, brought loads of mags, went to the gun shop with the intention of getting the 97k, ended up comming away the Theoban Evo, just my personal choice after handling all three of the guns you mention above. No doubt there all top notch guns, but i didn't get on too well with the anti-bear trap thingy in the AA tx200 and was a tad heavy for my liking, the 97k, only thing put me off was it seemed to give off a fair old CRACK when fired, perhaps a better silencer would solve that? The Evo was my choice, nice weig
  4. Thanks for all the comments. A pcp would be great, but there's the added expense of buying a bottle or pump to keep it charged. I will look out for a 2nd hand pcp, also a 2nd hand springer but don't want to buy something that's not quite right or might have been "got at" in some way. Have noted that 2nd hand prices are quite high in the dealers. I'll keep looking. Just wish there were more opportunities to try out on a range before buying so that comparisons could be made. I'll keep looking! Cheers, Mike.
  5. Hi - I'm disappointed with the build quality (or lack of it) on the old BSA Meteor (internals look as though the local blacksmith has produced most of the parts) and the poor trigger (again, it all looks very agricultural) and repeatability of a recently-purchased Hatsan/Edgar Mod. 105. I know these are "budget" items, and I'm really wishing that I had spent a bit more on something decent. Looking for a full-power (but non-FAC) .22 for static target and grey squirrels (30 yards) and for under £400. Popular items seem to be Air Arms TX200, Weihrauch HW97K, and Theoben Evolution. Could anyone o
