    Got PATTERADLE pup when she was 9weeks old....she was doing great until 2 nights ago.....found her lying in the corner of the pen shaking, almost fearing for her life!!!!! Took her down to the house, thought best to keep her indoors and keep close eye on her....funny thing is she immediately showed major signs of improvement, bouncing around everywhere....but once the door bell rang she immediately relapsed, shaking and trembling hiding in the corner.....anyone any idea's whats wrong????

    Well mucker, he could have been the best dog in the world....but if he was untried then don't bother breeding him,unless your going to rear all pups yourself until they the age to work and then if they don't make the mark then carry out the deed yourself!!!! This just isn't feasible!!!! I have dogs that are only 3-4yrs but look like they are 10-11 they are such well worked.....so don't be judging by looks neither, take advice constructively and think smart!

    Well, interesting topic! Don't know any lads working any full "bed" terriers in northern Ireland, seen a handful of bed x pat, good at their job too,but throw more pat!! Are the full bed any good for the ground work? I would be tempted into trying something new,ha,no smart remarks with that!!!!!

    ile stick with the fold up bow saw . ive enough to carry. Don't think he actually mean petrol mechanical chain-saw,i hope,ha! Reckon he talking bout hand held cutting wire on two handles, makes mince meat of wood, even better than the folding blades!

    Every year i strip all my terriers come the hot weather......however this year i have used immac leg hair remover...great stuff.....anybody else using this stufff???

    Mate with all due respect i totally disagree.......too many people only let their dogs out when the hunt is on....of course its going to be kill on the mind! They are dogs irrespective of breed,gender and nature...they all work off the same cog's.....its up to the owners to re-act responsibly....otherwise things dont go accordingly!! Put in the effort and you will reap the rewards!

    Mate had a dog exact same, small black pat, wanted to take on the world, attacked every other male dog within seeing distance....guy i bought him from just couldn't handle him! I took him home, let him settle in in his own pen, next couple of days let him run about with muzzle on! then over the next few days introduced him to the rest of the dogs, with muzzle of course, every time he launched an attack he got nailed by both the dogs and me!!!! And i mean a really good message sent home, the only alpha round here is me!!!!! Continued this for the next few weeks, every now and again removing

    Listen adam with dogs s**t always going to happen....and it 99%down to handler...as much as we would like to blame it on the dog or other parties.....but ignore all the negativity posted, try to take the positive from this, this is why you obviously posted, you want viewpoints, not slating!!!!! The dog wasn't properly broke, my method....."dog used to walking on lead, when he/she hears the click of the fastener they know they off the lead, this is the learning zone! Fasten 10ft of cord around collar and then around your hand, unclip lead from collar,the dogs furthest limit is now only 10 ft
