My prices are on my website have a look, click my link to it and tell me what you think i only came into the 21st century a few months ago my wife designed it and did all the work. almost all my mole work is domestic but there are some very large propertys in oxfordshire and i have been to everything from the smallest council house to huge country houses with dozens of acres, to be honest i`m not to bothered about doing large farm clearance as i would think that at the price farmers want to pay i`m better off doing domestic work anyway.

Its funny how someone i never met passing away can make me feel sad but i used to watch his films with my old man when i was little, he is one of the few who could make you laugh without doing anything particuly funny in itself. rip .

your right about the weather i held off with the feeding as long as i dared to get enough bees for winter i will feed now till about middle of october, all this brood should be hatched by then and they can fill up the cells with stores as they come out. mine are going mad for the ivy at the moment, its the busyiest i`ve seen them all year. bees a couple of weeks ago the yellow streaks.

All going well John i have done apiguard, queen went off laying in the middle of treatment but at the end of 4 weeks she had relayed 5 frames of brood, so hopefully will have lots of bees for winter, started feeding on saturday and had some funny yellow streaks on the front of the hive i thought this was pollen but some on the beekeeping forum think it maybe the shits so i have ordered some nosema treatment just to be on the safe side. how yours doing.

He is a bit of a twat but as a 'tv programme' then its ok. I always laugh when he does one of these daring stunts and he goes on how 'one slip and he is dead' and a boy does it along side him with a great big f*****g camera on his back. Thats what i mean, , but its o.k as a bit of entertainment which is all it is.

my dad got me that book when i was about 9 or 10 it was my bible back then i tryed all the traps out with very limited success and nearly broke my nose when my spring snare went off and smacked me in the face, i also got grounded for a week for catching birds in the garden with fishing hooks, all good fun. i found it in the loft last year and my son now has it hes 11 now and loves it.

i think ray mears is better as hes more real, i mean if your trying to survive on your own in the wilderness the last thing you should be doing is trying to jump across a fast flowing river in the rocky`st place or diving off high ledges or eating shit "quite literily", if you try and survive by taking the risks bear grylls does you would`nt last long, his show is just that a show and i dont think he was ever in the special forces either, i do watch it sometimes but to be honest the guys just a twat.

I keep soay sheep no money in them but they are very hardy, nice to look at and they shed their fleece so no shearing.

a good friend of mine is a thatcher, grows all his own straw, 20 acres all cut with an old binder, i used to work on the roofs or the farm threshing and harvesting with him years ago when i was doing continental shifts at the factory (on my days off), its great to see him working, but its one hell of a messy dusty job when you have to strip the old thatch off, i used to come home black from head to foot.

the farmer i get my hay off said it will run short before the winters out, because of the dry weather we had people were feeding hay as soon as it was cut because the grass stopped growing (i had to give a little to my few sheep plus extra concentrate). so it will probs rocket in price its £5 a bale here already i`m sure if the buggers have got a big enough vehicle and a buyer they will be nicking it

Would I get an open FAC first time?
trapperman replied to LordGamebore's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
I think it depends on your local police as they all seem different, as a pest controller i didnt get an open from the start in fact i had to fight to even get it at all. Just ask they can only say no. -
forgot to say it did flood sometimes in winter this is why it was cheaper, you wouldnt get 22 acres of good grazing land not in a flood plane in oxfordshire for that price even 8 years ago.

some land is totaly over priced, me and the misses were looking for over 10 years before we got our plot and i have seen some places asking around £50000 for less than an acre because it happens to be near a village and theres the "hope" value that they believe they may be able to build a house on it one day. we have got into a bidding war at times over a couple of plots but one that we missed out on really pissed me off it was 22 acres of grazing land with over 200m of river frontage and a small stream runnig through it to the river this was about 8 years ago and when it got to £50000 w

yes the billy does stink abit, i have been told that they put their heads down between their legs and piss on it to attract the ladys but havent seen him do this yet. I tryed it one night whilst out on the piss and it didnt seem to affective.

These are my pygmy goats, i have never kept goats before and only got these this year for the kids to play with they are very friendly the kids walk them around the holding on leads. as already stated foot trimming is more often than with sheep but worming/vacs etc is the same, just call defra to get your cph number sorted and away you go. my two young nannys cost £200 each the billy was £50 he is intact and i will breed from them next year, if you just want an interesting and friedly pet they are perfect. i feed goat coarse mix about a cup each per day, hay always availible and i cut a g

look at my pinned beekeeping thread you will see a top bar hive i made out of old wood very cheap just make the top bars 17" the rest doesant matter to much should be fine for a hobby keeper

land isnt cheap we brought 4 acres just over 5 years ago for £24000 with no water or services just old grazing land, but you pay less per acre the more you buy so depends on your budget. it is worth having a solicitor as they look for rights of ways etc and any covenants that the land may have ie you may think it is just grazing land but the previous owners may have granted permission for the parish to hold its yearly fate on the ground, it only cost us around £100 for this. there is no council charges on the ownership of land.

and for a mesh floor just used some green house shading plastic, but i will have to knock up a solid floor to slide in for cold weather
