A lot of these programs make me laugh, I like watching some of the Alaskan programs but feck me its over dramatised watched one the other day the guy hit a stone with his chainsaw and blunted it, well you would think the fecking world was gunna end, dramatic music, husky voiced narrater the lot ?

Yeah I'm just throwing ideas around to try and make it a bit easyier if I can just zip from hole to hole with the auger (if it's up to stoney compact ground) I thought it could be a good idea To plant when all holes are dug I use knee pads and kneel swapping knees each tree There's something about the angle of my back when digging that just hits it bad, it's slightly better with long handled spades What does your work with trees involve? Forestry?

I'm planning on starting a choose and cut Christmas tree farm from the smallholding seedlings 20-30 cm and undercut so an 6"-8" hole and same deep should do, I will be doing 500 a year so could dig but I do suffer with my back when digging!

I'm planting lots of trees soon and was thinking of getting one to make it quicker, my ground is slightly stoney, sthil ones are expensive but I'm sure very good Has anyone tried the ones you can get around the £150-£200 mark on eBay/Amazon etc the reviews look ok for them Will they cope with a few stones?

I've actually had a good day today, a day off spent at the holding tidying up came home to my NHS health check results (I'm over 40 now so got a free check up) everything fine although my bmi a bit high but then I'm a weightlifter so height weight thing is always a bit high for me And just celebrating with 4 pints of bud ? I'll prob have a heart attack in a minute ?

How close to your hammock and tarp do you put an open fire? I was worried about sparks burning tarp etc so took the frontier

Just down the smallholding Between the hammock and my bell tent I'm planing on spending more time down there from now on, I love it just me the fire and kettle, no TV or wife

Well I had my first night out with new dd hammock, it was -3 cold enough to freeze my water kettle solid by morning but the under blanket kept me quite warm enough

When I was an under keeper we were putting posts in on the rearing field, head keeper in a front loader full of stone for weight me holding posts up to get pushed in, it used to slip sometimes but I watched it close, anyway one time bit of hard ground and the loader almost had front wheels off the ground post splits loader comes crashing down smack on the top of my head I think if I was standing straight might of killed me but was crouched and bent over so just flattened me was out for only a few seconds

Not as bad as yours but me and my daughter been bad with colds and coughs all over Christmas, I've not had one all year and start to get it two days before Christmas bloody typical

I think the misses is trying to get rid of me, I got hammock under quilt and top quilt and hammock sleeve Lad got me tent flashing kit and mat so I can put my frontier stove in my bell tent I think I'm getting kicked out in the new year? Daughter got me a Remington beard boss Also got a kirtly camp kettle, 5 bmi 116 traps a spoon carving book, whiskey, socks, and the usual smellys All good stuff for me What you guys get?

Santa clause the movie I loved as a kid and still gets me feeling Christmassy, he is real you know!

A spaceman came traveling for me also We've got over 100 Christmas songs on shuffle in our shop........ It does start to grate a bit, there's one on there i think it's those bloody chip monks singing I swear I'm gunna smash that bloody iPod next time it comes on!!
