  1. As someone else has already pointed out, these devices are being misused on a regular and open basis. As far as being a 'useful tool' is concerned, for what? As someone who has worked in pest control and wildlife management all of my life, I see no benefit in blowing up empty mole runs. The law (Wildlife & Countryside Act 1981) is very clear on this. You may not use explosive devices to kill animals. These devices are clearly being marketed as a vermin control method in the UK which is misleading. I set up the petition because I am fed up with our wildlife being indescriminatel
  2. Have a look on www.deepsea.co.uk, there are boats on there near Bournemouth, (Poole is close & Lymington) they might be able to help. A.T.B.

My missus opened it, she wasn't amused!!
  4. Exactly right. We used a vasectomised hob on our jills 2 years ago & they all fell pregnant. The vet who carried out the operation offered to do it again but he said that, as in humans the severed tubes have been known to some how rejoin in rare occasions resulting in litters of young. Still have 2 of the "accidents" and they work like demons.
  5. I was there Sunday, those guys with the logs were cooking a badger (allegedly), had no reason to doubt them as there was a badger pelt on the log pile. Don't think they were part of the BASC game cookery demo. Lots of good looking dogs on show, nice day out.
  6. I fed lots of trapped moles to my ferrets last year and infested all the hutches with fleas.
  7. Hello Kev, I'm in the sticks not too far from you. No lurchers anymore but still plenty of ferrets & stuff. Hello Bushwacker Where in the stick are you ? Midsomer Norton / Radstock area Kev. You haven't got a brother called John by any chance who worked at the Alcan factory?
  8. Hi Rich, You were right about the weather, the trip was cancelled. Went beating instead.
  9. Hello Kev, I'm in the sticks not too far from you. No lurchers anymore but still plenty of ferrets & stuff.
  10. Hello Rich, Welcome to the site. Hope Weymouth is sunny this week end, I'm booked on a bassing trip on Saturday !!! Good luck with the air rifle, there's plenty of rabbits down near you.
  11. Hi Harry, welcome to the site. When I got my FAC I had to get a separate safe for the ammo but that was because, as you stated, there was no lockable compartment for the bullets. The requirements probably vary according to which police force area you live in. Best of luck with the application!
  12. I fed some moles to my ferrets in the summer & they got really bad flea infestations, apparently moles are plastered in them. Conditions in the ferret hutches made a perfect breeding ground. Had to treat all the ferrets with flea shampoo & spray the insides of the hutches.
  13. Hi folks, new to the site, new to computers, not so new to the ancient arts of hunting. Site most informative & a good read. Keep it up!
