never worked with defra , or the enviroment agency then put them on the general licence clued up arnt you I'm not quite sure what you're getting at there but if you're asking have I worked with those agencies, then the answer is yes, those and Natural England, week in week out, that's why I'm very familiar with what's required before they'll even consider granting licenses or consents . And to clarify my last sentence, that's just my own personal view - a simple and logical solution to a long running problem regarding a species which is currently afforded full legal protection

I keep getting texts which say 'Records passed to us show that you're entitled to £xxx for injuries suffered in your recent accident'. With each text the ammount they say I'm entitled to rises. So I'm waiting a little longer then I'm going to reply and claim the fortune as compensation for the amnesia I obviously suffered as a result of my 'accident'

Just about to mention the same thing.....donkeys getting blown tae f**k!! "Out of ammo, out of ammo!!".....well if you stopped pumping 20 rounds into each twat then you might save some, who was the gunner Stevie Wonder.......... They seemed to be quite high up when the camera would back off, maybe they had to use so many to do the job? Maybe...id have thought one of these mounted guns would be pretty accurate at distance though.......... Seemed to be lining up left of shot too..... Don't forget the chopper is moving, probably had to compensate. Thought you were a shooter..?

Very graphic video of Taliban engaged with hellfire missiles and 30mm cannon. http://www.liveleak.com/ll_embed?f=f213b73d647e

I caught a bit of the report on the news last night, and I heard them say 'they found that there are far more badgers than they thought'. Well I don't know the full story (does anyone?) but it's apparently being claimed that surveys to establish Badger numbers in the cull areas were carried out 5 years ago. I do think I know the protocol as I carry out ecological surveys the same as must surely have been required for this, and I find it hard to believe that a license would be granted based on 5 year old data for any work affecting a protected species (never mind culling). So call it a u-t

Bending, dithering, ignorant and spineless . Another 'victory' for May and his cronies.

I recently found a camera at the side of the road in a cull area. It looked as though it had been dropped accidentally, and not knowing if it belonged to a fellow hunter, I decided to check the memory card to see if there were any photos that might show the owner as they were setting it up . There was a photo on the card which made me sure the camera must've been dropped by someone against the cull, as the people certainly fit the 'Bill' of typical antis.

If I knew the world was ending I'm not sure if there'd be anything I'd feel I must do before it happened, but I would like to be with my family when the end came. And I think anyone who says they've no regrets is either lying or must've lived a very boring and risk free life. I'm sure my regrets and bad experiences have made me appreciate the many good things more. The one piece of advice I'd give any young person is: 'you're only here for a short time, make sure it's a good time'. .

what breed is this dog? whats ur opinion?
kenny14 replied to silentrunner2011's topic in General Talk
So should the question really read - What breed was I told this Dog is? If so then I bet he also told you it's 100% on all quarry -
That was on the radio a few days ago and it certainly made me chuckle. The following day this one was on, and even though they're on different continents I'm sure they've got the same genes!

any opinion on a stainless barrel
kenny14 replied to fiona22's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
I have a stainless in .243, and of the Foxes and Deer that I've lost I don't think any were due to the barrell colour . I agree with deker that you should get what you like best (and what feels most comfortable).- 7 replies

Though some target ammunition is hollow point, I think they'd still be classed as expanding because the cavity would cause them to expand

I totally agree with this, otters are now allso decimating wildfowl numbers grey partridge numbers where I am are in my mind seriously low, mink numbers are snowballing out of control, buzzards are like sparrows everywhere, where as the traditional country man used to control and manage his area with pride, everything was kept in ballance, the first time I saw my farther cry was the day they banned hunting,Its a sorry fact that they think the badger is a vegertarian like just like them, its the old story vegetarians there is no one harder to speak with, they have there opinion and thats it rational i

agree totally mate. i play call of duty modern warfare 3 with a few friends. it's an 18 game. most of the other games are about 10. its a cliche but i blame the parents. And so many of these people who play on games (and allow their kids to) where it's all violence and killing, think those of us who shoot and hunt are barbaric!

I blame it on all the stupid soaps, all murder, robbery, rape etc. It's created a society where for many people the truth of reality is not exciting enough, hence people see something in their street and let their imagination run riot

Regardless of TB, the main reason they need controlling is that in many areas there's an over population, which is not good for farmers, keepers, lots of other wildlife, and for the Badgers themselves. Among the many things these activists and others who are against Badger control fail to understand is that if left alone in an area such as the UK is now, most wildlife simply can't and won't thrive without some form of effective management.

It's generally accepted that Foxes can see infra red light, and having used different trail and other cameras for several years, I've little doubt that they do. They often look straight at the camera, or get spooked as soon as the light comes on, and sometimes are reluctant to enter the arc of light. When shooting with NV I've also noticed some will look straight at me as soon as the IR is switched on.

Looking at it realistically, all they're going to be doing is trespassing and filming a legal activity. And as I and others have said before, it'll only be a matter of time before one or more of them has an accident, either by getting in the way, or falling over a cliff or something.............We can but hope

You don't have a problem as the Dog's obviously looked after well, but who knows how the Really Shouldn't Pretend to Care about Animals would see it.

I know you're joking lab (I think! ), but no ammount of money is worth making your kids unhappy

Sensible advice And before anyone connects to the drains, they should make sure it's a 'foul water' drain that runs to a sewage treatment plant, and not a 'surface water' drain which will empty straight into a river or stream. Otherwise fish and other aquatic animals and plants will be affected, especially by detergents or other cleaning chemicals.
