One word in the title sums it up - IGNORANCE, and though many of us keep trying, you can't educate those who simply don't want to learn. Instead of politicians constantly sucking up to the fluffy bunny brigade, they should listen to the farmers and country folk who know the truth, remove the legal shackles and let us make a start at controlling some of the over protected animals, and hopefully eradicating this horrible disease.

Those were exactly my thoughts...... Thats also what i thought too on reading this topic.. But its in the back of mind that surely no matter how scorned she is, she wouldn't have went as far as saying that the poor lad is dead, that would be very drastic if it is the case. 'Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned' is not just an idle saying. Believe me, there's nothing that some women won't do to get back at a man . Speaking from experience, at times the 'gentler sex' really can be evil whats this gentler sex? your talking about a creature that can bled for 5 days or more

I'm really suprised you didn't finish that sentence with something crude!.................... You must be feeling in a very good mood this morning Not really...its pishing down again and the work is catching up... On the upside the birds are doing great at the minute.........................touch wood!!........ Don't look up to the skies then, 'cos you can bet your bottom dollar that every BOP in the area already knows exactly where they are!. They say Birds aren't that bright, but it never ceases to amaze me how quickly they find poults Its ok mate i'm on the game farm.....al

Some people have absolutely no morals whatsoever!

I get that but surely a CCTV system records so it would just be the case of looking back over the footage? That's true lab, but not all record 24/7, and those that do require someone to sift through hours of footage. And unfortunately it's looked upon that the cost and man hours involved can often far outweigh the cost of the stolen goods. isn't that the sort of thing police are supposed to do? hares don't cost anything and yet they spend enough friggin hours on them!!! What they're supposed to do, and what they actually do are two different things. . I also agree with yo -

They're scum, pure and simple, and this thing has happened a lot throughout the country, and it's prompted many to change the material from metal to something far less valuable. A lot of places replaced their war memorials in order to prevent it. And as for the CCTV, many local authorities can't afford to have the cameras monitored, so a lot of them are actually no more than a visual deterrent. -

Suppose it depends how you define potential mate. When fit, in form and at their peak, either of them would have walked their way into most European top sides IMO. Capello treated Owen like a dog at Real Madrid, but he he still ended up with the highest goals to minutes played ratio in the league while he was there. That's very true. And he never complained publicly either. He'll always be remembered by most true football fans as a really gifted goalscorer, and a model professional.

Day old Pheasant Chicks........!
kenny14 replied to Rolfe's topic in Wildlife and General Photography
Lab......I tend to agree with you...... that was my first thought, they were a lot smaller than the the light coloured ones, they had gone too far over the fence by the time i had got there. They were all with the hen pheasant without a doubt.......could a red-leg and pheasant laid in the same nest I wonder? I am slap bang in the middle of a shooting estate and there are hundreds of pheasants and red-legs about. I've come across that before a couple of times. I once found a mallard nest with a few Partridge eggs in too. -

Thanks Fred, but there really is no need to use my Sunday name!

I hope it's not true that the lad died, but to be honest, my first thoughts were that if the girls boyfriend had just been killed in a car crash, trying to get all his info and posts removed from THL would surely be very low down on the list of things she'd need or want to think about. Could it be a bit of revenge for the lad spending more time on here than with her?

I've got to disagree with you on a couple of points. firstly years ago hardly anyone would've heard the word Biodiversity, and far fewer would've understood it's meaning or really cared about it. They believed the earth had a limitless supply of resources, both animal and mineral. I could give many examples of land and animal management practices from back then that had a detrimental effect on biodiversity, but a couple of simple ones are: Pouring all waste products directly into water - Resulting in 'dead rivers'. Culverting and canalising rivers and streams - Resulting in loss of habit

I'm not that far from you, so if I put my other plans for saturday night on hold, can I come along and help? I can bring guns, Dogs, night vision etc, (or would you prefer crucifixes, holy water, wooden stakes and silver bullets?)............ To be honest I'd rather just fetch the camcorder, as you and your mate are both admitting to being scared shitless by this 'beast', and I think the results would be f***ing hilarious . I for one can't wait to hear the outcome

They've learned that watching the row behind is more interesting than watching an SPL game!

And the same club ( and only club ) to be relegated as champions .............................and the same club ( and only club ) to score 100 goals in a season, and concede 100 goals in the same season The highest attendance you can have that one.....although it was in the 1930,s !!.....the wingbacks thing ive never heard that before i dont know where you got that. The other thing you can keep is that pathetic cringeworthy Polish dance when you score a goal.....whats that supposed to be unique .....lets not start pretending City are some great big club who have returned to their rightful

I've said it many times before - A classic case of protection working too well. IMO protection of any species should be reviewed regularly.

It was so different back then, for example compared to nowadays very few Corvids or Grey Squirrels were found living in gardens or Town/City parks, so estates could far more easily control a local population. Also unlike now, very few people put out Bird feeders, which attract Corvids and Squirrels, plus we're far more wasteful with food, so the food supply can now support a much higher density. Very little or no control of these species is done in gardens and parks. This means there's far more pests to quickly move into areas where the residents are controlled. This also applies to urban fo

And if all else fails, you could sacrifice the Goat to appease the foul smelling servant of Satan that's prowling around! .

83 replies to this topic, and we all started reading probably believing that he'd gone. Only time will tell. Everyone would know it was a piss take if a topic started with 'Dalglish smiles'. Love him or loathe him, he must surely be the most miserable looking t**t there is.

 And what about the effects on the man walking behind, holding the Dog lead? They made him invisible!

Yep, it's true, LFC have got Martinez as their new manager............................... When approached by the board, Roberto said no, so they got this Martinez instead. The appointment, though a little hasty, was made on the basis that they couldn't be any worse than the last manager.
