  1. Always a worthwile exercise if you want help the songbirds
  2. A couple of pics of the Tree Sparrows that are nesting in the garden. They've been successful again this year, and have just fledged their second brood.
  3. I bet the 8 mile shot was with an air rifle too! The one about the Hare and Stoat could be true. The blind panic that the Hare would've been in could've caused it to do anything and possibly not be aware that where it crouched was actually a person. Who knows? After all fact can often be stranger than fiction.
  4. The foxes view.......... About right..... not even pointing at the fox! The fecker is safe as houses! I beg to differ........... Preperations for the Fox's demise are underway as we speak............................................
  5. Admit it Lab, if it looks through the window like this............................... You'll soon have it curled up on the sofa watching big brother with you and the cat .
  6. That brings tears to the eyes just thinking about it! It would certainly be possible for a Rabbit to kill a Weasel with a kick, but Weasels usually stick to smaller prey (and the other theories are far more interesting!).
  7. I can picture the weekly newspaper reports......... At this weeks sitting of THL court, several more men were sentenced to be hung, drawn and quartered, for crimes including: hunting in summer shooting a Fox shooting a Hare owning a bull x
  8. As has been said, there's good, bad, and evil people in all walks of life and occupations, but the antis love these sort of cases because it's easy publicity, and if they stuck to fact and reality they'd have very little to use. I strongly believe that the sentence should be the same for someone who falsely claims rape as it is for a rapist.
  9. I was walking through the woods the other day and heard a loud commotion coming from behind some bushes which sounded like a family of Stoats with a kill, so I crept over hoping to get a photo and this is what I saw..............................
  10. I could put up lots of photos of Foxes that've been hard at work................. So hard in fact that they've apparently worked their guts out!
  11. A mixed bag from yesterday. The weather's not been great for many Butterflies but there's plenty of Speckled Woods about.
  12. Nice pics More pied (or partial albino) Blackbirds seem to occur than other species.

    Reality

Although I control Foxes in many places all year round, I do admire them immensely, and this is one of my videos from outside a Fox earth. Most of us on here will have witnessed or at least be well aware of this natural behaviour, but I wish they'd show more of it on the 'Foxy' TV programmes so the general public can get an unbiassed view and see for themselves that Fox cubs are not just the fluffy cuddly little babies that many would like us to believe, but are simply natural born killers. Make sure the speakers are on.
  14. Well you know if it was easy.................. I'd be able to get a picture of one
  15. If she keeps on feeding them this is what'll happen, then none of us will be safe................................ Seriously though, as others have said, use it to your advantage
  16. That one's caught from Sheep, but it's easily cured................................................
  17. Don't get em too fat malt or the Poles will be after them
  18. Rats have much darker fur and the WV has ‘nice’ brown fur Rats also have longer tails which have no fur on The Water Vole has a more rounded face and much less pronounced snout and ears
  19. i have access to a fair amount of land and pritty much the sole shooting rights, there is a very large pupulation of wild pheasants, deer, pigeon, duck, rabbit, hare. the odd partridge as the ground is not ideal for them, when everything is wild rather than farmed (stocked pheasents ect) there is no need for the, kill everything mentality associated with rearing and release pens, its all about balance and understanding, i like to see the odd fox, stoat.weasal, even rats, crows and squirrels have a place in the countryside Course they do.........................................We've got to keep
  20. Heard of the saying 'tempting fate?'! Agree with you on the game thing, and I think what andy probably means is that he got written permission from the council, and good on him . With the police being so keen up there, he's bound to be quizzed at some point, so better to produce a permission letter than have the police making phone calls that probably wouldn't be appreciated.
  21. Yes, nosey and usually ignorant or ill informed......... 'I've just seen a man with terriers/lurchers, so he's quite obviously poaching'. I'd seriously doubt the instant fine, there's relatively few 'crimes' that police have the power to do this for. It's more likely an attempt to frighten people off. I recently saw a sign on the edge of a wood, warning that cctv is in operation as a measure to stop poaching - The landowner didn't have a clue to who put it up or why, but suspected a local animal group, or busybody.
  22. A "huge grass snake is still only 5 foot or so, hardly an anaconda huge.... fishing the best time to see them....... I swear it was this big
