  2. Wouldnt know about taste as like i said I have never tried one but they normally grow in fields that have been grazed short by cattle or sheep etc because long grass makes them rot undernieth when its damp.
  3. They are a kind of Edible fungus. never actually tried one because i always come across them too late when they have gone brown and sludgy but they are supposed to taste really good fried with onions.
  4. Pretty big. A local lake that i fished in with my grandad that was dug 25 years ago was stocked with big carp and a few 2LB catfish.Last year the biggest catfish caught was over 12LB so I would say they can grow pretty large in that time.
  5. Sounds like a good permission. good luck with it no disrespect meant to the residents but whats the point of having a written sign??

  14. hi all, mainly talking to OTC for this one because i assume he will know. I found a trap in my great uncles barn that he said i can have. its kinda like a fenn but had rounded jaws so i assume it catches by the head or upper body, he said its for rabbits and squirrels but he doesnt know what its called. he always used it in a tunnel but it hasnt been used for about 30 years or more. will try to find a pic. cheers. jake
  15. I have been banned from using anything that fires a projectile in the garden (apart from humane dispatch from point blank and shooting foam darts at my sister with pump rocket) since a marble fired from a catty bounced off the shed roof and hit nextdoors greenhouse
  16. You wouldnt be sure of a clean kill with a shotgun with a deer that big and for that reason its illegal. Only muntjac can be taken with a shotgun legally.
  17. hi all. where i live the pigeons are getting really cheeky (coming and landing on the shed roof when we are outside etc) EATING OUR VEG PATCH BARE AND SHITTING EVERYWHERE but due to having houses on all sides (end of terrace house with house backing onto our garden) so shooting is unsafe. I have some rabbit cage traps and was wondering if its legal to set one on the shed roof baited with bread inside and just outside for the pigeons??? any advise would be great because i dont want to break any laws

I am going to rear some pheasants in my garden this year and was wondering how chicks are to be kept warm on journey from gamefarm to my house because they will have to be away from the brooder lamp for around three quatres of an hour??? I have all equipment needed (shed, brooder lamps, feeders, drinkers etc just need chicks and pecking bits. If anyone can give me a solution to this problem i would be greatful and if im just being over cautious and they will be okay for the journey please let me know. thanks. Jake
