  1. There the same as a dachshund, that one is a standard size but people work the miniature ones too in Europe.
  2. I done a few old bits of cover with the Teckel this morning and he buggered off into a yard full of old scrap and rubbish, there were far more rabbits in it than the hedges, we had a good rake about for an hour or so but caught nothing. He found a good wide burrow on the way out and down he went, barking for ten minutes or so and back out
  3. I don't, far from it! I don't know if thats actually how cleeking is spelt but thats how its pronounced round here anyway. I'll see if I can get a photo of the tool he uses.
  4. Yeah, I know a man that does it, they call it cleeking where I live. The lads here use a bit of broom handle with a piece of heavy wire on it.
  5. Good title to your thread...great way to think. It is usually the other way round!
  6. Great sport, I read an article somewhere ages ago in a book about lads bolting foxes from hospital ventilation pipes.
  7. Sickening, truly sickening...Poor bugger.. However, I dont see why the RSPCA should be making a collection off the back of it.
  8. Great magazine, look forward to it every month
  9. The next wet day wait he's waiting, get him lined up with a puddle and drown him!!
  10. Brilliant wrIte up fellas, well done on getting Chuckles out!
  11. Hard to beat a bit of biking, don't over do it too soon...I always keep the lead in my hand, I used to put it on my wrist but they seen a cat and I ended up in the hedge in a pile! I found it easier with a slightly longer lead too, keeps them out a bit and gives you time to brake up if you need to
  12. Don't worry about hydrometers man...mix it up throw it in, then drink it down....all you need to know is if it tastes good at the end!!
  13. A fellow told me one time he could get all the pigs he wanted for his dogs But pigs are too salty!!
  14. They always come out the way they went in....nice to feel that FREE FLOW at night of a net that was packed away properly!
  15. My mate got one about 7 years ago at 8 weeks old and had it as you would a lurcher. It done well in the daytime and at lamping but occasionally had trouble with knocking toes up, but for the amount of work he gave it nothing you wouldn't expect. His friend had a pup a few years after that he still works that did very very well at a lot of stuff. I hunted with her a few times and she was very good. No problems with feet at all. They got the pups from a friend who is a breeder / trainer.
  16. Collie x Grey x Whippet Her dam, now deceased
  17. Sometimes even I run out of time to walk mine or it is a really wet crappy night, or I am going somewhere in the van I pile them in for the run! The mind needs as much exercise as the body....
