    I didn't know there was one in May in the south either but on Sunday 3rd of May (The Sunday of the Bank Holiday weekend). There is a working terrier, lurcher and hound show on in Kilkenny.

    Thanks for all the advice lads. To clear up one thing, our vet is a keen hunting man but his partner (female) is anti. I did not bring the bitch in as he said he would put dye in it take a look and give me drops. But he just gave name of drops instead saying that only time and the drops will be any good. So it is by no means neglecting her by not bringing her in. She is in great form so we hope and wait. Thanks to all again

    Thanks for the advice lads. It was a vet who recommended the eye drops. I am not bringing to the vets as the cut happened an hour after I dug with her and she always gets these funny looking holes in her face after digging that our vet dont like to see!!!!!! It is glazed over but this happens all eyes for a couple of days after any bang. Thanks again.

    My bitch cut her eye ball out hunting on Saturday. The cut is about 2-3mm long. Its on the brown patch around the black pupil. I am treating it with a human eye drop with antibiothics. Has anyone any other advice to save the eye please

    Thanks to all those who voted. We won the vote 55% for hunting 45% against. Biggest ever vote the paper hsd 17500 votes cast. I think we need to wake up a bit over here learn from ye lads mistakes. With the country in a heap for money, to ban hunting would be a nice carrot to shut up the back benchers.     Well Olddog Glad your having good sport. We had a poor day sat marked a lad after ten mins took an hour to get him out from under a slab on concrete. it was bloody cold as -3 loading hounds. Had cracking day sunday with hounds getting two very good hunts no digging though. Hope you have good sport this weekend talk next week. Good Hunting Johnny

    Best comment on this site I think. I could not agree more I am only 23 but have been around digging since I was ten days old. I still think I know little and always will. But I see some amount of young lads now who get a dog for stupid money at a show or through a friend of a friend. They arrive on and know it all. Know a couple like this. Best trick for these people is to get them to handle the game and not let there big bull cross do it, watch them go green. This sorts the people with experince very quickly. Or other way is when they arrive out looking fresh saying they dug 15 foot day befor
