    i don't believe the seasoned hunting dog to be at a disadvantage from his quarry, on most occasions it will be the first time the rabbit/fox/deer etc has come into contact with a dog, the dog on the other hand at the very least will be doing this once a week during the season,the quarry may have "home turf" advantage as you put it, but the dog has vast experiance at the game. "so surly in my mind there is the chance that that rabbit will get away am i right or wrong? so how is this the same as putting two dogs in a 15 ft ring to go toe to toe" it is'nt the same,the rabbit WANTS to get

    so my lurcher running down the beam is in the same context as to dogs going toe to toe mmmmmmmmmmmmmm think not waggi don't think thats what he's getting at,if i read him right he is asking do you believe what is at the end of the beam wishes to be chased and killed by you lurcher? does the fox wish the terrier to enter his earth and hold him at bay/mix with him?? does the pheasant/pidgeon etc wish to be shot??? can you see were this is going.... now take a true bred gamedog and ask the same question... now with 2 willing parties can this be cruelty... brutal maybe...but cru

    used one of these for years with no bother.as oldskool says,turn it right up till you get a knock,then turn it down slowly till it stops,swing it to and thro till you get a knock again,then repeat.i used a sort of left/right sweeping thing...

    i believe there meant to be "working terrier" shows, so as his apearence is due to work & not some physical defect that hinders him in his job i can't see why it would go against him,no different to a dog who's lacking in the dental department due to his entusiasm for the job.anyone who marks against a terrier for showing sighns of his trade should'nt be judging them in my oppinion... spongebob.

    used to have a good few false earths on some of my old permision,all were 9in stone/concrete pipe, various shapes with a chamber put in along the way,never no deeper than a couple of foot.all held well.

    is the lad on the bike known to you or is it just cause he was out at 6am that leads you to believe he was a smack head? were was your dog when he was hit,walking to heel, running on abit or in the road? ALL dogs must be kept on a lead/under control AT ALL TIMES when in a public place,like it or not thems the laws.
