Alot of people quoting that they would take an eye for an eye because there dog is like family too them, well guess what.... they sheep you kill are what feeds that farmers family and he( as would i) would do anything to provide for them. I might be a bit more sympathetic if the 'story' went "The farmer raced acros the field and shot all the dogs" but he never he waited for 2 hours to see if the dogs would be put back under control and they weren't. Remember this boy has lost a few dogs(shit 1s by the sound of it), if revenge takes place like some say they would on here and the farmer loses

Little story........................... About 45/50 years ago my grandad was a forest ranger and was mainly on vermin and deer control.....anyway there were alot of cars getting burnt out around his area and 1 night he seen a set of lights heading through the woods. He quickly grabbed his van keys and ran out his door and as he passed his hedge there was a golf club sticking out of it so he took that with him. He drove to where he thought they might be and sure enough they were there, 3 of them in a pick up with a guy sitting in the back. He stopped his van and asked what thy were up to and -
Totally agree with most of your posts mate. What i would say is that when there are questions asked on here then there will always be a diff' of opinion, think thats what makes the site so good. If i log on tomorrow and everybody was just agreeing with each other then it would be a bit boring for me.

They are delicious mate. Probably the nicest bird to eat, just a pity they are not the size of a goose. My mate cooks them with the insides still in and then when cooked he pulls them out and spreads on a nice bit of crutsy bread/toast. Never tried that part myself but he swears by it.

Maybe we have got our wires crossed but since you said shotgun or air rifle i took it that you ment when they were on roost or you must be 1 hell of a shot with your air rifle.

Is it pigeon shooting you just want to do,there are plenty of people out there that will tell you that you need a trailor full of stuff to be able to have success,if you have land to shoot on you can have some great fun with the amount of gear you have.You could maybe do with a hide net of some description. A small decoy pattern on the edge of a fiend of rape or stubble,can work just aswell as a huge pattern with floaters,bouncers and a rotary machine,and remember once you've shot a few birds you can increase your pattern size with these birds. Think that the pine needles would have got there by eating other foods of the forest floor? How did it catch a grasshopper? Just goes to show what little chance young birds or anything edible has with them round.
