To be fair he is a farmer and hunting is probably not his thing. He is probably just pissed off with losing money every night to those orange smelly fuckers that run around at night killing anything they catch. I for 1 wouldn't give a toss where he put it and as you said all perfectly legal so anybody who has a problem with it could maybe dig deep in there pockets and pay for the lambs that are killed every night

Cheers bud...... The woods were not getting managed well and there is alot of it blown down so i think thats why they dcided to sell up? I know its an English guy who is never there and we reckon he bought it because there were rumours of a wind farm going up and he might have jumped in for a compensation claim.

I am in the process of buying my grandads house which is a cracking little place with 17 acres of land and a dream come true for me. The house is surrounded by roughly 1000 acres of forestry woods. Now i know a number of years ago the forestry sold the land to someone but how do i find out who?????? Would love to ask the owner[hopefully a shooting man/woman] if i could shoot pigeons in the wood as there are some good numbers just out of my boundaries. Cheers to anyone who can help.

Traded in my Scooby STI Type uk so i can car share with the girl. Bought a 08 Astra SRI and its a pile of pish, the slowest thing i have ever driven. Trying to talk her into an X5 or if business goes well a Range Rover.

The bigger the better mate thats the key, it also lets you add more if you you decide to in the future. Most people put there birds down start to mid July so they are ready and strong fliers by mid to end of October. I like my birds to be 20 weeks plus before shooting starts, nothing worse than a 3/4 matured pheasant getting shot at.

And this is the reason that i couldn't be bothered coming on to THL for a while because of this nonsense. As it has alredy been said the hare is a pest when it is in these mass numbers and has to be controlled. There is a ban so get over it..................................everything will be banned shortly with the views of some on here

not always the case, it could of been any one else that lived near by and could hear the dogs barking . True...not always but alot of the time they do and from some previous posts it looks like it is.

Lets face it al whether you did the right/wrong thing this neighbour who you did not want to challenge face to face because you didn't want any hassle will know shortly that you were the person who informed the authorites and hopefully he doesn't come chapping on your door looking for trouble.

Walking through Edinburgh today and came across what i thought at 1st was some kind of street event until i looked closer at he posters and it was a petition against snares. They had 5 idiots lying on the ground with wire around them oozing with blood. I saw this big fat idiot with a clip board trying to get people to sign so i walked over and calmly said " This is a form of vermin control that is much needed you tosser". He didnt reply :wankerzo4: I must say it made me feel pretty good!!!! Anti scum!

Ok since this thread still seems to be popping up everyday i would like to put a scenario forward to all the lurcher men/ladies against the shooting of the hare for control reasons............Lets say that there was no ban and this land owner who is over run with hares puts up a post on THL offering 20 dog men/ladies to walk his land[over the course of a week] and clean up some of the hares. Now over this week the tally of hares might not be in the 500 area but it could be well into 100 mark. Would this then be classed as ok? If so there seems to be a big 'sour grapes' attitude because 1 sport

So you must be against 'all' types of shooting then.? So in my eyes you are no better than the anti's that we all hate. he miht not like it but whats it to do with you ? some shooters dont like deer/hare coursing like toffs but it dont make em anti does it ??? hes not saying he dont like if you read his post he says it should be BANNED i think it should be you that reads his post again where he states that 'shooting is indiscriminate'. So it doesn't matter if its a hare or anything you are firing at there is always a chance that the animal could be wounded and get away.

wont be nothing to do with it being illegal now would it it was just the same before the ban they didnt seem to be a pest around altcar Maybe if everybody stuck together and let others do as they choose there wouldn't be a f###ing ban!

Well said mate as i was trying to state each to there own. I do not own a lurcher of any type but a few of my friends do and i love watching the chase. Just gets my back up when people diss someones sport/hobby just because it is not for them.
-
its not sport shooting them they dont have a chance! at least with dogs theres a 50/50 chance they get away and you see a chase Direct hit= dead hare, miss= free hare. 50/50 in my book Shot in the arse - escape - slow lingering death. caught by a lurcher a nice and peaceful 1 i take it?

The Fox seldom if ever leaves anything he kills, he is sometimes disturbed and not able to retrieve all his kills..simple as!! This is all too often interpreted as... he just kills for fun!! Although i am well and truly pissed off with the post still lingering around i find it hard to believe that some people just cant come to terms with a fox killing just for the sake of it. We all know that if all the birds killed were left where the died that the fox would return for a feed but this does not explain why the Badger, stoat, weasel and birds of prey dont act in the same way when faced
