Some are but not many, most are poachers that have turned Keepers.....the worst kind of all. OK I am not condoning the act of poaching BUT I am about to be devils advocate and say this. So someone came on your land ferreting and was told to leave and showed no violence , is that OK ? Someone runs a dog and it never looked at stock only the rabbit and was told to leave and showed no violence , is that OK ? You do have a relevant point in this post ! Believe me your right saying "people born both sides of the fence" have different outlooks on life because of there income mainly and there wealth. Toffs....yea there on that side of the fence like you say born into it. Keepers are not. They lick arse because they have to due to the job they are in. Like most vets she has no clue on ferret welfare, apart from what they have read about what is prob the Mustilidae family this family also include Badgers and Weasels. BUT no literature would say stick a pencil up any female Mustilidae f@nny.... If you have a PURE BLACK FERRET ( Kit.... that is a HOB or aduult female "over 6 months old " ) I will buy one now without any quibbles. Pure black means as it says " Black " no white bits at all ( ALL BLACK ). I will travel to most places and give you the money providing it is PURE BLACK with no patches or slight color of any kind. Nice feather in ya cap mate. Them keepers think they are a law to there own as well...lol They are as bent as a dogs back leg the lot of them. I know loads of keepers and some I talk to Ok but some I know think they are the fookin queens son. The bottom line is " they will talk to you when they can be bothered to " they do not have time for us mere rabbit catchers as we are the burdon of there life.( apparently ). I had a Jill go near a week late about 4 years back. If its fit and healthy ( eating drinking pooing and peeing ) ask after it is over a week late ! Gestation is 42 days GENERALLY and all the kits I have bred have been near to this time but lads I know have had Jill's go over this me included. I would like to take the opportunity to explain this quote. I have known and know lots of Keepers that are good friends but ( IN GENERAL ) They think they are doing you a massive favor by letting you on the place. I Will give you an example. A keeper comes on to a estate,( new hand at head keeper) where he is from they control rabbits by racing them with a quad and shotgunning them, now he does that now on the estate up where I am from and praising himself on the numbers of rabbits he shot. THEN he calls me in to do the Rabbit control.........So I hit the place with a .22 from a ve

I do it both ways ! I sell Rabbits that I take " so the Rabbits are my pay " BTW, I am a registered business doing this as a main line of income. I have Some terms and conditions written I will give you some quotes from them that may answer your initial question. I hope this does not bore the head off you but I do the job for free if I can get good hits / big numbers that I can sell. YOU can not always do it for free or your Job becomes a hobby and you can not pay your bills with hobby pay so I tend to do this and I do not have a problem with getting the point across to landowners /

We might of had a lot more if some little sh1t did not steal the snares we put out. To be honest the farm has a few visitors trying to catch Rabbits. These Rabbits get shot at with dogs and 12 bores, air rifles from a load, lamped and 22ed, ran with dogs day and night ( the list goes on )......... So these are hard rabbits and spooked to death, lamp goes on, rabbits run off, gate gets opened, rabbits run off and so on. After a long time looking I found someone selling a Hobart Mincer. I am over the moon and I think it will get plenty use. This way nothing will go to waste not even the Rabbit bones. It has loads of spare blades and assorted front plates. Cheers

I have just sat and read through this thread. Wish I hadn't now. what a load of bollocks..... What are they? What breeds are the 'labringers' made up from? Heinze 57 variety ? Tried and tested breeds are already out there and most of us own them. Horses for courses , and breed like Heinz and produce swines. The swine ! it has a short tale too. I love This gun here baikal mp-153 I had an escort and hated it, to be honest it was a right pile of sh1t. But everyman to himself as far as opinions go. So through choice and not price I went out and got THIS AUTO HERE, I love it. 3 1/2 inch, multi choke, adjustable settings for light heavy loads. ( I have never to alter the settings at all ). It never jams or gives you any grief, it has no silly rubber "O" rings inside to go wrong. I love it, in-fact I love most Baikal's. Cheers
