  1. I did a little bit of homework and these canons are producing great quality stuff. The lens on it is superb for close up shots and has just enough wide angle to show perspective of what is been shot. Any one want to but a full HD compact 1080p camera with loads of extras....LOL Thanks
  2. I made a expensive mistake this time. I had a sony VX range camera to use for the footage of my DVD's that I have available now and it seemed to work very well. I was talking to my so called mate who uses compact HD equipment to shoot motor sports and other race meetings, the results looked well and he sort of had me brainwashed into the HD compact stuff. I sold the sony and moved on to the compact HD stuff. I went out yesterday and the lad who usually videos my shooting took the new HD I bought, he instantly noticed that the compact lens was way to much wide angle to get any detail into the s
  3. Just read this on NGO website NGO Insurance The NGO's £40 Membership Subscription includes public liability insurance for up to £10 million whilst taking part in any listed gamekeeping or shooting activity for leisure purposes. It gives you peace of mind that you are insured, if not already covered by another insurance (eg household) that you hold. We find that this certainty is all that most of our members require but if you do want more (eg cover for your dogs or for shooting abroad), our brokers, Lycetts, will be pleased to quote attractive NGO members' rates. Notice the bit that I h
  4. I have just been through this dilemma myself. Please do not shoot me down for this BUT check the insurance company that your home contents are insured with ( You may well already have it ) I have just renewed contents insurance using the money supermarket site and got a great price from the AA £50.57 per year This led me to phone them and ask in depth about the public liability side of the policy insurance that would cover me whilst using my air rifle outside where I had permission. I am insured for unto 2m liability, I even asked things like if I spooked stock after a shot and they crashed th
  5. To be honest I have owned and tried dozens of camcorders from ultra small helmet cams to pro broadcast quality. Out of experience it seems to be compact stuff produces poor quality footage, I have just bought a full HD compact camcorder and tried it for hunting shots, I have wasted my time and scrapped the footage to get results on hunting footage suitable for todays viewer you need to go pro broadcast quality something that has 3ccd or better. Compact stuff is OK for to film the family at the parties and such like but they are very limited to use for hunting. I am currently in the very
  6. Well this year I have nothing outside ! I have a serious snail and slug problem. After years of trying to get them with pellets, salt, beer and regular late night patrols with torch they simply keep coming back. Next doors garden is like the wilderness and I have a vast wood area at the back of me so I have no chance. I have 4 varieties of tomatoes, strawberries, King Edward's,Peppers, Chillies,Peas,Courgettes,Aubergines, mustard, basil, parsley, and onions All planted in pots and containers.
  7. I really like it mate. it shoots very accurate indeed and works a treat for rabbit control. A lot cheaper to use than the rimfire mate. Should of had one years ago. Steve
  8. Hello, I was bored last night so I decided to have a couple of hours before dark with the HW100. I have uploaded a short clip showing the HW100 KT .177 cal doing Rabbit Control. Although this video clip is short I hope I have managed to show its capabilities at various distances. video was taken on a small pocket camcorder inside a vehicle filming through the windscreen. I am quite impressed with the capability of this rifle and with the A & M Cylinder fitted it is so well balanced it is a pleasure to use. Thanks Steve
  9. Thanks for all the advice ! I have bit the bullet and bought a new one http://www.surplusandoutdoors.com/shop/survival-accessories/pocket-and-survival-knives/opinel-carbon-locking-knives-234401.html Well I am gutted now having to spend all this for a knife that will only last me 10 years minimum . Thanks all Steve
  10. Go on mate treat yourself, buy a new un. I will mate, I feel like a right cheapskate now...LOL fook it I will spend a tenner..LOL Just thought someone might of bought one and slashed their fingers using and hated it that much it might be for sale. But no...as the ones that buy the opinel knives know how to graft them. I have a new one on order now, you lot have talked me into it. I bet you could shave with these ...do you reckon ? Thanks Steve
  11. I will pop into Bagnalls the morra and have a look at the prices foresterj, just its a twat getting parked. Your right Moxy I have a old no.10 here I have had it for maybe 8-9 years now and its still in good usable knick. I used that for the larger game. I have loads of other knives but trying to find one that can keep or even get an edge like these is hard to find. Just fancy a 6 for the rabbit and small game job. They are a cracking knife, Thanks again Steve
  12. Thanks mate ! Did you order online mate and if so where from ? Can not log back into the spring fields site so thats off putting ! Thanks Steve
  13. I am looking for a used / new opinel no. 6 knife. I know I can get them delivered from springfields for a tenner but if I can get one delivered a bit cheaper it would be nice. Pay Pal Payment waiting if any one has one for sale at a decent price. PS: Please be realistic with prices as they are not ridiculous to buy new. Any help appreciated Thanks Steve
  14. Yes they are worth buying ,makes the rifle more balanced guaranteed And you get loads more shots. Like already said give Daryl ( Marksman ) a shout he will speak to you in detail and help you.
  15. Nice one mate if you need any additional info please feel free to ask Pleased you liked it Thanks Steve
  16. Thanks Phil. I am honestly amazed by it still. ( I keep looking at it and think, your like a hiss fart in a crowded shop , your pleased you got it out ! Silent but deadly ) and very impressed with the results. Just got off the phone from a friend wanting to shoot a place we attend and he had the audacity to mention fetching his rimmy..... Well after my face stopped screwing up as if I had licked p1ss off a thistle, I explained that we will be doing it with the HW100 ( yes he has the lip on ) But in all fairness the place justifies shots on average of 40 yards or closer so the HW will
  17. Well done mate ! I like home made stuff thats well designed and the simplicity of this appeals to me. Thanks for sharing Steve
  18. I will eat all these pies...LOL Well if I can grab them before the wife and when the kids visit. They go down well in our house. Cheers mate Steve
  19. I will do mark. I done lots of research on pellets prior to buying this gun and yes they do come highly rated. I had lots of samples given to me from a dealer , some were heavier grains but I find these fly nice and straight and do the job perfect. I really cannot find much difference between the 4.52 and 4.51 in this pellet. For some unknown reason I have went down the 4.52 route. I have been buying these pellets in quite big amounts as now I am relaxed with them and the gun all I need to do is stick the cross on the target and pull the trigger. I am like a big kid again and love it. St
  20. Cheers Darryl. The Cylinder is spot on as far as shot count and holding its pressure. To be honest you sometimes forget that they are air powered because the cylinder lasts that long you do not have to worry about filling all the time. Mine is so well balanced now with that cylinder it is more of an extension of my arm as opposed to a rifle. ( If you know what I mean ) All the best mate Steve
  21. Here is a Photo Talk through of my Rabbit & black Pudding Pies Hope you like my recipe. Thanks Steve
  22. Mark LOL...I never wanted to get big headed but yes you are right, these rifles are something else ! You point them and where the + is on the target is where it hits. I love it, You know another thing that gets me is because it sounds so quiet and underpowered you think ( hmmm that will be no good ) Then you shoot it at quarry and see the results ! Then realise how wrong you can be. I am busy compiling a photo clip showing my Rabbit and Black Pudding Recipe all meat ingredients are a result of this amazing rifle. Coming from rimfire to air by choice is one thing but for the b@stard gun
