  6. Good read again mate, excellent shot placement for that distance too It`s nice to be back online..this moving house malarky is way too stressful and time consuming
  7. Some fine shooting there John, thanks for the link, enjoyable reading:thumbs: After some red tape i,ve now got vermin and a "shooting birds" condition on my FAC covering both of my centrefires,so once i start re-loading,i will be doing some corvid bashing of my own...few good tips there to use
  8. Nice to see the mod is christened, much better when you don,t get the muzzle flip and can watch the outcome of your shot through the scope eh? Good shooting

  12. 3 out of 3 Well done John Good read as per usual. Wish i could get the time to get out after a few,but as there causing no problems at the moment,i,m going to try and leave them untill my shifts change in June.
  13. Very good of you I will, you puff too much gun for him to handle
  14. Had them myself running on a bit with wounds you,d think would drop them on the spot, not pleasant but hey,we do try for the quickest most humane kill we can. Only 156 yds, would of walked back aways your doing well on them again John, long may it continue for you Got told i was going onto a project on dayshift for 8 month at work this week..so i whinged a bit as i got put onto the last one,and whey hey.I start on 4 on 4 off June 1st be able to start getting some serious shooting in again
  15. Got this fella within 10 mins of arriving.Once healthy dog fox farmer very happy and very impressd with NV as he,d lamped this 1 lots and not got a shot at him.He was about 220yds away and not keen on coming any closer,so seems like the lamp shy fella he was seeing...now have an open invite to go back anytime..in fact his response to the shot was "i,m selling my rifle, you 2 just come up and shoot them all"
  16. Good result John, worked out really well..could have said it was the field craft and good shooting, but don,t want you getting all smug Still working too much(on 12 in a row again at the moment )but out tonight with the NV.local farmer is starting lambing and asked if iw ould pop up and try for a couple of lamp shy fox he has. This fella has a .243 and does his own. He was on our shoot as a guest and asked if i,d sort them.this was in December and now he,s lambing he remembers and will expect miracles straight away..always the case told him i was on nights this week so will be there arou
  17. Should have taken one of your girlfriends along John, she`d have kept "ewe" warm  Nicely done mate, you seem to be on a bit of a roll at the moment, long may it continue
  18. Good result John,Enjoyed the read and your persistence payed off Still not been back for that fox i missed the other week, although it is still about as we,ve had more snow and it,s tracks are around. No real panick just yet as Pheasant season,s over and the lambing is still 6-7weeks off. Finally starting to get a break from overtime so hopefully some shooting will follow.
  19. Nice, love it when that happens, much better than sitting around for 2hours then missing NIce picture too
  20. Nice picture there John, very artistic Good shooting again More luck than i had on Saturday night.Cracking day on Friday on the Pheasants, started with 3 out of 3 including a left and right.Shot 10 Pheasant and 1 Woodcock. Went to check the bait tree and there were Fox footings all around it.Headed up to the barn on Saturday evening to wait.Farmer came out too (he,d been baiting for a week for me)and we waited patiently from 7-45 till 10-20 without a sniff.Had tried a few calls and got the impression foxy had been and gone earlier. Had to pick the missus up at midnight(out for her birthd
  21. He was a fat litle bugger..till you killed him, evil man Hopefully it,s the mate of the vixen John got the previous night. My turn tomorrow hopefully. Good shooting by the way,had to use the same type of rest myself on more than 1 occasion
  22. Well done John, nice to see you were rewarded for venturing out Only got 1 trip out over the festive period...not even a rabbit was daft enough to venture.Got over a foot of snow and freezing temperatures but seen a few sets of tracks and 1 of the farmers is going to bait for us tomorrow,so hopefully get at them before the weeks out.I might even use a normal scope in the snow..nah! prefer to cheat
  23. Good read as usual John, can see how the 1 you "stalked" with the gauge would be the most satisfying of them. Still nothing much here to go at.Numbers just haven,t recovered from the other year..but on the + side, pheasant returns are high again and there,s plenty of Roe to go at when i get some time off. Going to read your other write-up now...must be nice to get some dry weather too thats for the comment
  24. Nice shot she certainly was in good knick!
