  1. I try no to net 2 or 3 close holes with one net, done that before and you will sometimes get a rabbit go from one of the holes to another without touching the net. I also have different size nets the smallest being 31ins for restricted areas, i was talking to a chap (Mick Mansbridge, who's made a couple of vids) and when i told him i used small nets for the smaller holes he said you aint catching the bloody holes

    Gate net

Many years ago when i first started ferreting i bought a couple of gate nets but did'nt know how to use them, this particular day we saw a couple of rabbits behind an old pig sty so i set up the gate net while my mate went round the other side to drive the rabbits, as said i did'nt really know how to set them, one of the rabbits came steaming round the back of the sty and hit the net but, i had set it tight between the two poles and as the rabbit hit the net it just catapulted back where it came from must have wondered what happened, i could hardly stand for laughing.
  4. Dont use hay for bedding in the summer it overheats with the ferrets lying in it, ferrets then get overheated.

  6. I still have nets that i made 10 years ago from hemp /flax, just make sure you clean them and hang them in the dry after every session and they will last.
  7. You can also get them jill jabs, takes them out of season.

    Grommits

Used on the botton of the net when pushing the pole into the ground the rubber and net slip up the pole so the net is tight to the ground, so if the ground is softer the pole goes in futher (Tip from Glen Walters snareman on here).
  9. Just £1 from the local game dealer.
