  1. Ideally yes Steve as i have very limited storage space.
  2. Snares should be checked twice a day, max 12 hours. That's not the law in England. It's atleast once every 24 hours. My snares do get checked dawn and dusk, but the law is once every 24 hours. I did'nt say it was law i just said they should be checked max every 12 hours (to comply with Best Practice) as well as for the quarry but for your own benefit so the carcass does'nt get raided and stripped by vermin.
  3. Where is the best place to buy collapsible Larson traps? thanks in advance.

    any tips

There was a post on here somewhere ( with pics) but i cant find it where ther poster set up his longnet in a hall by laying the lines out full length with the net on, then placing the poles at the distances needed by the side of the net, from the first pole stretch the net back to the third pole then bring it back to just inside the second pole there you have double netting between first and second poles, carry this on with rest of the net. Clear as mud? Just reset my 100yrd net this way and found i only had just over 70 yards of double bagging so be careful when buying nets and check they h

  8. go to the pinned section at the top of the first page and it will show you the drawings and info.i have put up on snaring squirrels. Glenn what size loop would you recommend about 3 inches? Cheers Roy
  9. Christ that is a small rabbit or is it just part of one and the fox had the rest of it?
  10. How are you doing that then? both at the same time, good luck anyway.
  11. Part of this post is what causes the problem, shooters were looking for support when certain guns were banned, then hunters were looking for support before the hunting ban but country sports never support each other so we are divided all the time, so divided we fall.
  12. Continuing on took another rat last night with the same setup in the same place, and yes i know its the bird feeder that attracts them but at least i know i'm getting the local population down, thats 10 shot and 3 trapped in the last 6 months in the same area. http://i217.photobucket.com/albums/cc128/b...yoftrapped1.jpg http://i217.photobucket.com/albums/cc128/b...oy/trapped1.jpg http://i217.photobucket.com/albums/cc128/b...oy/trapped3.jpg
  13. Thats the second one they have released and i wonder if its because they dont have any means of culling them, if so they should not be trapping fox's. I remember a while ago a newspaper article about a pesty in my local area who took fox, shot and trapped he would give the client the choice of eliminating or releasing but if released he would release them all in the same place i believe on a large area of railway sidings, pity the local residents wondering where all the fox's were coming from.
  14. Thats what i was thinking, the little nipper type trap is set so fine i would have thought it would go off even with a mouse.
  15. Could anybody put me on the right track for a cheap security camera setup to record with motion sensor for night time use. The reason i only want cheap is to just to cover a rat trap i have in the garden where the bait keeps getting taken and the trap is not activated so i need to know what is taking the bait. Thanks for looking. Yes i did get the idea from "The rat pack"
  16. Can anybody give me an answer instead of hijacking this thread please.
  17. Steve just seen your post a bit late i know but Dave (Trapworks) is dealing with the buy now i dont know how many tins he ordered if you get in touch he may be able to help. Try on here Steve http://www.rabbiters.co.uk/cgi-bin/yabb2/Y...?num=1249213566
  18. Well after the start of the thread i reset the fenns and baited the plate with peanut butter and left the tunnel where it has been for over a week and lo and behold got the little buggar last night. After another look at the way i set the traps i realised that i had pushed them down into the soft earth to keep the upper part of the trap level with the ground not realising that the soil was stopping the plate from being moved when the rat went on it DOH so removed the soil under the trap and hey presto. The little nipper type trap was baited again with a piece of bread with peanut butter fir
  19. I've got a rat / rats in the garden i normally deal with them with the air rifle but have'nt seen it/ them lately although the wife has, I set alittle nipper type trap baited with peanut butter and bread and with a 6" nail through it into the soil that has worked before but the little bugger has sussed that and dug under the front of the trap till it fires and then takes the bait, then the other night a fox turned the live catch over and got the bait out of the side, thats now secured down. I then baited the mk4 Fenn's that have been in place in a made tunnel for the past week and it looks lik
  20. Why is it that people post on a thread without reading the previous posts? eastcoast has already said his keeper mate has caught 4 polecats but posters still offer theories as to what the culprit is.
  21. My apologies i thought the mod was calibre specific.
  22. because it says fitted with 17hmr proofed moderator. not it is a 17hmr its a 22lr. a bit confusing but i had a couple of jars before doing the advert. Even more confusing is how does a .22 bullet go through a .17 hole in a moderator? more jars before replying to my post?
  23. Not being picky but how can you have sub sonic ammo with a .17HMR.
