  7. i personally wait till 12 months to do proper hard excercising and like to wait to start dogs working (i go by the rule wait a few extra months and gain a couple extra years which was said to me by a very wise dog man). I know you have to wait till 18 months with greatdanes to let them have a good run about but they are massive in comparison. general mooching, playing and general clarting about shouldnt do your pup any harm in my opinion as the muscles and tendons have to experience some sort of strain to develope. Hope this helps
  8. Just been looking in to getting my bitch insured. Can anyone recommend a decent insurance company that they have claimed from without hassel? Do you list your dogs as working dogs? I am quite happy to pay up to £30 a month if needed
  9. peddle bike is much more safe, i go on forest tracks and do alot of road work with my bitch...takes them a while to learn commands to know when to turn and slow down and go faster but its great fun in the forestry but be very carefull on the roads as people dont like to allow extra space or slow down
  10. Ye I think your right my kids loved it ill give it a couple of weeks and then get all the gear .its a said o/d height on top of that horse lol. I know, the equiptment is expensive but worth it....if you want a comfy bodyprotector go for a racesafe one they are brilliant. Anouther tip is always have your arms covered, i once was on my way back from a show and just had a thin short sleave shirt, the horse spooked and sent my flying going skidding across tarmac and got a large rock stuck in my elbow....if only i had worn a long sleeve t-shirt i would have avoided the gravel rash lol
  11. well talking of this i had a incident today. Tilly was having a good day which is rare at the minute had passed a couple of dogs without a problem....was coming up to this women with a fat little minuiture shnauzer too busy blabering on to someone she new to take notice of me coming along....and what happened the little b*****d went for tilly....luckily this was on a good day and just holding her up by her collar stopped her trying to rag it (alot of growling and riggeling but not too bad) if it was on a bad day i wouldnt have been able to hold her...i proceeded to get a hold of the little fat
