  2. i dont know what i do but i would prefer to avoid all potential barb wire injuries as the fencing round here is apauling in places, so as i said before would rather go home with no bunnys in the bag then having to carry my dog home and her working carrier ruined, there are many MEN yes MEN on here who dont jump there dogs......may be iam to soft in some peoples opinion but i know many men who get just as upset as any women when somthing happens to there dog...this dog is my life and is like a child to me, they come before everything, even the boyfriend but luckily he understands having a terri

  4. and about the having a smaller crate i went for the smaller crate as my pup sharp leanred that if she did it in there she would have to lie next to it, helped with house training aswel
  5. i had my terrier in a a small crate big enough for her to turn around etc because she was distructive when we went out or were asleep, she was fine during the night and could last a fair time during the day

  10. women and working dogs like chalk and cheese yer right ok !!! dont judge us all i have nothing against women hunters at all, but they come on here not all of them try to put sexy little pics of them selves with abbit of clevage and want to be given the same respect as, they winge about silly little things like there dog puts it back feet on the fence most young dogs do it when learning some dogs get cut some don't thats part of the working life. if they want a cute sighthound get a italion greyhound there for proper hunters oops!! big time at fence hopper i have been told
  11. i was just about to book my dog in as now have a little spare cash, then read that post about the dog getting its ears cut off not far from me and now ive been put off
  12. that really does put the fear of gos in to me as its not that far from me ...i have decided against getting my lurcher tatooed now as i would rather never have her back than somthing like that happening to her, so microchip it is

  14. ah very true,never thought of it like that, we have a lot of "typical sheep fencing" and i would rather go home with a empty bag then have anything happen to her
  15. you will just have to get over it, im sure by the time the dog jumps a little more you will have more confidance in her and loose your girlie fear lol i know but shes like a child to me, going to go for the plunge....do you think if i tryed her over a loose barb wire fence and tied it down then made it higher and higher would be a good idea or should i just leave it and see what happens

  18. as it says i have been practicing jumping with my lurcher but everytime she puts her feet on the top of the fence even with a run up and i have been practicing with her over a wire (not barb wire) fence.....any help anyone as im scared she might hurt her feet on a barb wire one when out lamping
  19. sounds to me like shes a bit stiff......like you have been to the gym after not going for a couple of years, its going to hurt the next day for a couple of times....try working on her fitness

  22. thank you for tyhe advice, have found a forum for advice and have decided to go for a "RCOM suro" would have a broody hen but my mother is frightened to death of chickens
