    im not speaking from experience of the breed but my colliexgrey (my first lurcher) who is coming up two is clever, very clever but not too clever for her own good......very good at out smarting her prey and predicting what its next move is going to be and i would defonatly have anouther........but is what your mates said really a bad point? do you really want your dog to run and run with no hope in hell or catching somthing? i think its a case of the dog getting older and wiser and thinking, well i can either tire myself out or save my energy for anouther run....but there is a diffrence betwee

    claw marks, foot prints, stinks diffrently, loads of kick back(soil) around the entrance.....but remember foxes can inhabit old badger sets they can also sometimes live together so be careful...good luck with it edited to say ive learned from gamekeepers, before hand i wouldnt have had a clue...you got to start somewere dont you?
