  2. Yeah its got to be the Harris. But a fyew points all should take on first before buying a bird. Do you have the time to put in. Do you have permission on land to fly your bird. Who will look after your bird when you are on holiday. There are many Harrishawks about its worth travelling them xtra miles to get the right bird. GOOD LUCK HAPPY HAWKING Tom.
  3. We handle our Ferret every day and take it for a walk with collar leash on. Usually they go nuts when you first go to the cage , is there anywhere you can let them run off some energy say the kitchen or some enclosed area , i know a walks nice but they cant really go nuts & race round like loonys Yeah it runs around in the kitchen as well and plays around

  5. My Ferret this morning was excited and started lunginng forward and drew blood on my arm. I was just talking to a friend who works Ferrets on a reglar basis. He said that the Ferret was just playing.Iwonder are there any Ferrets that dont bite at all.I am not being a wuss in writing this but just interested in other peoples experiences with there Ferrets.
  6. Thanks for that reply mate it is really helpfull.I use a mk1 collar and locater.
  7. Thats terrible you are best flying on land were you have permission well away from on lookers.
  8. I have been reading lots on this forum about about being laid up. As a newbie to ferreting it makes one wonder how long you should leave your ferret down the warren before using your finder and deciding to dig? When you are digging what stops you hurting the ferret below.
  9. Looks a nice bird mate why do you want to sell him after putting in all the hard work if he is flying so well seems a shame.
  10. Should be a great fight cant wait does anyone know any streams
  11. Hi Nice looking Harris you got there she looks a good size with a handy set of feet on her. Iwonder what weight does she fly at?Do you also fly the Spar Bo.
  12. When she comes in season (every year) take her to the vets for a "Jill Jab" about 12 to 18 Quid. No point in breeding unwanted ferts. Get your jill a mate. A castrated hob from a rescue or sanctuary would be ideal. All ferts will work given the chance, the more you handle and socialise them, the better. HTH. Cheers, D. Thanks for the advise mate
  13. I wonder how often will i have to take her to the vets for a injection to keep her out of season or am i just best to breed from her?
  14. shouldn't need to train her mate, if you can get her into a warren she should know what to do, you might want to think about getting another ferret to help her out though and they need company as they are not solitary animals Yeah thanks for the advise mate.I am looking around for a mate for her. I am just waiting for a ferret finder before i try her down some holes as i am told that she could kill under ground and that a ferret finder is a must before you work a ferret.
  15. I am new to ferreting can anyone give me a little advise I have just been given an Albino Jill that has not been worked in the past. Can i train the Jill for hunting rabbits? The Jill is very tame and has been only a pet in the past.
  16. Yeah not enough around 200 to 250 for a male and around 350 for a female.
