  1. Pretty sad to see a intelligent animal like this and others have their Habitat ripped out around them . I'm no tree hugger but surley the daft b*****ds must know all this deforestation is ruining our planet ..... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2118376/Filmmakers-heart-wrenching-documentary-shows-tragic-final-hours-orangutans-life.html
  2. Cheers for the Help David . I was think of doing this which would turn out cheaper in the long run. the rails in the box look like they have been beaten up slightly and also pin tacked in, I'll probably make a bit more of a mess of them trying to remove them, think its also a good idea to contact Thornes in the link you put up David and see what bits and peices I can pick up. the trouble I have here is there are no local wood merchants which is a pity as it doesn't look that much to knock up another brood box
  3. :clapper: spot on stealthy. I can't beleive their front keep returning to a place where they have inflicted so many wounds . Me saying these fella's are thick skinned is a understatement........
  4. I'm new to this but its somthing the wife has always wanted to get into. to cut a long story short we picked up a old Hive off a friend yesterday after he moved who had this standing in his garden for a good few years. looking at it it needs a few repairs and a few other parts bringing in to get it up to scratch, in the pictures is probably the worse of the damage on the Brood Box which looks pretty rotted out in areas, thankfully the stand still seems solid as does the rest. I'm not sure weather to try and repair the Brood box or just bite the bullet and buy in a replacement? to be ho
  5. Nice one Moll . I liked this cockeral and thought he was a keeper.... the annoying thing is I originally had three in there and thinned two out in favour of this one. seems like I kept the wrong one back.
  6. definitely one for inspector clouseau mate, can they get spooked out and die of fright from a heart attack?
  7. Got up this morning to feed the chickens and found my Rhode Island Red x Light Sussex cockeral dead . I put them up as usual last night and he was perfect and treading the hens as normal. when I found him he is perfect with not a mark on him but just laying on his side against the wire of the enclosure. Its typical as I had four cockerals but kept this one back while the others went for the pot, this one always seemed the alpha bird around the other cockerals which is why I spared him above the rest. I know there has been the odd Fox snooping about around the garden but they certainly
  8. Had two pairs of Muck boot Tays and loved them comfort wise, only problem with both my pairs is the soles started to fall off within 3 years on both pairs. I was gutted because out of all the wellies I have used these was my favourites .... contacted the Muckboot company and they advised me to use stormsure or simular, not best pleased to be honest....
  9. thats you out of the game then mate in that Westham Scarf . spoke to a few people who have been on them and enjoyed the experience hands on picking up a bird and flying it for the first time, I don't know anything about the one you mention above Gnash or many others to be honest. I only get to hear about them if somone has been on a course and picking up a bird afterwards. One lad told me he went on a days course somwhere and spent the first morning with a bit of leather infront on him making Jesses and Anklets, thats all well and good if the lad wants to make his own which I'm sure he
  10. I know what you're saying L.. whenever Jonny evans gets the ball I'm shitting myself. made me laugh in the paper the other day when fergie was praising him up. the lad should be on the transfer list end of season......
  11. Bilbao made us look sunday leagure at times and deserved the win home and away.... Don't know if its just me but from a Man Utd supporters point of view there's a few players in the squad like Jonny Evans, Rafael, Carrick who just ain't good enough for the big occasions? been some pretty strange team selections from Fergie of late ...........

    Breaking point

Think I would now put him down to moult and get a good diet into him, you can then look to start over when he is finished. most things are out of season and obviously breeding now plus a good moult will do him the world of good ...........

    scales

seen some of the old Balance type kitchen scales with weights on Ebay Bullx, most come with a bowl but easily converted Never Used any other scales than the old Balance type and always weighed in Pounds and Ounces. Can't get used to all this weighing in grams on the electronic type when I know I can weigh within a quarter of a ounce on the Balance type...... edited to say I just seen these on Ebay at Burton On Trent, probably could do with some more weights though mate by the looks of it... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TRADITIONAL-BALANCE-SCALES-/110835872100?pt=UK_Kitchen_Accessorie
  20. would think a few collectors would take them off you Tommo, probably get alot of interest in them on Ebay too .......
