The wife picked up 6 call duck eggs off ebay, all proved to be fertile but the stange thing was the airsac on the lot of them was drawing down on two sides? weather it was due to them being banged about in the post I have no idea but I have never seen it before. to cut a long story short 5 have pipped at 28 days, today is the 29th day and all have moved no further forward? I have no idea about duck eggs but have been led to beleive they normally pip and out on a few hours?

Yes mate they will, and also enter cover to secure quarry . Had a female lift over the top of woodland and drop like a stone, when I got over there she was grounded by the edge of the wood with Rabbit fur around her, they're certainly not the biggest birds but make up for it with their gameness. I had one that never had the gameness of the other two but then again I suppose you get that in all walks of life.....

Its horses for courses JJ on which way you go about it and what bird you feel will give you the sport you require . I have never flown a bird specificly at pigeons mate, had a couple fly them at check which was a telemetry job but thats about it. Go for the bird you feel you have the ability to handle and train, there's a fair few falcons pure and Hybrids out there that will fit your needs but its up to you which one... loved the aggresion and style of the Pere x Prairies but thats just personal preference.

Reading through your post you sound like you have had a fair bit of hands on experience, I also take it you have had experience in the management of BOP includeing the birds well being and houseing/weathings, equipment and telemetry, also feeding and conditioning for the field which are just a few to take on board? If it all checks out you should by then have some idea the bird that will suit your needs quarry and land wise? . If my main quarry base is what you have mentioned then I reckon Hawk wise a Male Gos would be on my list, caught all of the above with good engineered slips with

Big wake up call for United to off load a few players, I can think of at least three that should be playing sunday leagure . also Just seen the pictures of Tevez holding a banner "RIP FERGIE", makes me laugh how a few weeks ago he was despised at city and now he stands at the front of the bus No worries its only on loan. we've lost the title simular to this in the past and always come back stronger, probably this time we need to bring in a host of Players if we want to compete with city starting with Eden hazard.

Well done city, best team won at the end of the day . think Man Utd will being looking back at the game with Everton when they was 3 - 1 up and cruising and let them draw level, there was times when we killed teams off but not with this team. Hopefully Fergie this time with see the light and off load the likes of Berbatit, Jonny Evans and a few others that shouldn't be in that team.......

I have a old 4 Amp battery charger I have used for years. normally I just loosen off the caps and top up with distilled water if needed and leave the charger running for a day or so or a good few hours until I think its charged, I was told recently that leaving a battery can over charge the battery causing damage? I'm now thinking its true after I left my Old 580 AMP diesel battery running on the 4 AMP charger for a good 24hrs to find that one of the cells had packed up, also think I knackered up the ride on mower battery leaving it on trickle charge. the charger I use has a needle gauge,

Different birds I know but I have had soft shell eggs with some birds of prey in the past even though they was on a decent diet. with one particular bird she did it regular which was only cured by upping the vitamin calcium levels in her diet. I tried numerouse different supplements but the only one that hit the sweetspot and cured it was Nutrobal powder. its strange as I have had other birds on the same balanced diet without a problem yet for some reason some need more in the line of calcium than others. Here's a link to some on ebay if its any use to you http://www.ebay.co.uk/it

seems with all these fandango new gadgets that first come out there is generaly always room for improvement. I tend to stay clear of all of them until there's at least a MKII which normaly rectifies and updates any problems found with the MKI, If after a few in depth field tests the original unit is still holding its own without any improvments and performing well then I'm all ears . there been alot fo questions asked so far without many answers, this would tend to worry me slightly if I was interested making a purchase.....

The dogs a credit to you mate. all this techno computer stuff is way over my head Ash . I still have no idea how to take footage from video onto the computer or disc? I have alot of old footage on some VHS tapes and some old footage of captive bred Goshawks going through all the display from food passing to copulateing, think the best one is from the 's Lenny Walters Pere/Prairie putting in a cracking head long verticle while out grouse hawking . Its all way beyond me mate, my brains not what it used to be so I keep being told by the wife.

Couldn't agree more mate I was talking to a mate a few years back who had been to visit a guy who has been breeding and Incubating BOP since the 70's, he told me when he was sitting having a cup of tea with him he asked him what Incubator do you recommend these days and what one are you useing? the guy said "come with me and I'll show you" he told me how he walked him through corridors of his breeding aviaries and was thinking what going on here? until he got near on the last one, the breeder then stopped and said " thats the best Incubator I have on the premises"... there sat a fema

I totally agree with Moll, heard some great hatch rates in the Mini Advanced. I used a simular Incubator called a Turn X a good few years back which hatched out everything <link below>, the sphere shape of these incubators distribute the heat more even than most cabinet systems, this eliminates the need for mapping when searching for hotter and cooler spots. I agree with 2.8 guy about the use of some Bantams, some are dead good and some just get off willy nilly and wreck eggs, had a couple of good broodie slikies that you had to lift off the nest to feed and drink, I'm sure some of t

we had a few coming into the garden probably attracted to the noise of my birds. I made the big mistake of feeding them by chucking some Day Old Chick up on the house roof for them, they soon tagged on and started coming back for a feed. I packed it in when they started upsetting my breeding birds, its a shame as I reckon I would have had them coming in pretty close in the end...

Its a hard game to be in Wayne. no doubt about it mate you're held to ransom this time of the year, also when you have a good few birds Holidays are out of the question unless somone can live in to look after them. there's always plenty of ups and downs!! the ups give you a adrenlin rush but the downside like loseing eggs or chicks can be demorilising. not long now though mate and it will all be over, I have already booked my place into funny farm come August.
