Just wondering if anyone can help, is there a proper form to apply for an open licence, or do you have to put it down as a variation on a FAC application form, and if that is the case where the hell do you put it?

If I put you in a boxing ring with Mike Tyson and let him beat you to a pulp would you get back in the ring again? well it would stop me getting back in with mike tyson i understand the theory of it just asking if anyones actually done it have punished two dogs at the same time like this, they were pets not working dogs but I dont think it would make any difference tho. neither of them look in a sheeps direction now. but you only want to make the dog wary of sheep you dont want to break them.

I agree get a 12 semi, I was told to stop shooting because of a bad shoulder. Then a friend told me to try a semi and now it doesnt trouble me at all. 4.10 power of a cannon at the range of a water pistol and the power of a water pistol at the range of a cannon. but its ok for bunnies up close or the dumb fox I read about earlier.

spend as much as you can afford on a good set of scopes, you can only shoot as well as your scopes let you, but there's no need to go mad tho as you're only going to be shooting up to about 200yds at a guess so no need to get shares in hubble. try and get something with a lifetime guarantee (always a good sign). as for magnification and size of objecive lens ( the big end ) it's a matter of preference and what sort of shooting you are doing. hope that helps a bit.

thanks to everyone on their views and comments, I dont think I'll be going ahead with a huntaway x now but the foxhound sounds good apart from maybe having to walk a 150 miles to get it back.

Thanks for your reply Mucker It's just something I've been thinking about rather than using a collie, trying to introduce some intelligence and stamina without losing size, as the hunterway is a big dog. one concern was the barking tho.

has anyone heard of or seen a hunterway x bullxgrey, I have the chance to x these dogs and was thinking it might make for a good mix, sire a very intelligent working sheepdog with loads of stamina and the dam a very good working 1/4bullx3/4grey. I want something for foxing on the open mountains, and these dogs are available to me. Please be kind, I'm asking the question so constructive critisism or advice please.

What to say then. I'm Wayne from mid Wales been shooting foxes rabbits and crows for a good few years now but have just started working with Lurchers and Terriers. So I hope to get lots of helpful tips and advice from you all in the future. I've had a look around the site and its forums and found it to be very useful already, keep up the good work.
