  1. Personally, I rate the Haix high liability, Ex-Army boots as being tremendous value for money... ?
  2. I remember, years ago, (possibly when the methods of treating dogs for worm infestations were possibly a tad severe),..a noted Trainer of Racing and Coursing greyhounds remarked that more dogs have been done in and made ill, by constant repetitive worming, and fecked up by the process, often causing them far more harm than the worms ever did.? Sometimes I think we can get a wee bit obsessed with all this worming lark...?
  3. I rate raw green tripe highly,..it is a great additive to any working dog's diet,... if ya can get it...
  4. Looks to be a nice compact, well put together, well-balanced bitch
  5. It's inevitable, but it is a shit thing, getting old,...it sure takes some fecking getting used to...
  6. Here in the UK, the Smithfield Collie is a contentious subject...? Back in the day,... I have used localized herders, over my running dogs,...we used to refer to them as Blue Shaggs... The Border Collie seems to rule the roost nowadays and is usually the contemporary shepherd's, first choice...?
  7. Nowadays, there is no profit in taking the game, birds, deer, etc... Back in the day, I hunted for the gold doubloons, the concept of sport, did not come into the equation. Of course, it was morally wrong...only a fool would think otherwise,..but there ya go,..what is done is done... I've paid my dues,...and mercifully no longer have a financial need to kill for profit... I've no regrets,...life goes on...?
  8. Well,..back in the day, poaching game certainly helped to pay the Mortgage,...so I suppose,...that was good...?
  9. If they are serious and well-schooled freelancers,..you are most unlikely to ever encounter them...?
  10. Seen both dogs, 'in action',..a tremendously determined and lethal brace of runners...
  11. Purpose-bred, non-ped race whippets, are possibly the most aesthetically pleasing of all the smaller types of running dog... I've used several over the years,..they always give 100%...
  12. Sorry to hear that... Jim and I once featured on a Channel Four programme, "It's a Dogs Life"...him with his Pointer and me, talking about my rabbiting job. He was a knowledgeable fellow...
  13. Absolutely stunning pups,...just my type...
  14. Great to see healthy, well-fed pups...
  15. So good to see lads showing concern for their ferrets. For generations, ferrets have been woefully undervalued,..frequently neglected, used and sadly, abused. Nowadays, we are hopefully more enlightened and there really is no excuse to treat our wee pals badly. I've kept ferrets all my life, although of late, I have moved my remaining stock to a safer and more secure location,... I genuinely miss having them around...
  16. Great to see some young tykes at the beginning of their long journey. Personally, I love having a few pups around the place, they make the hunting life so very exciting... Every walk out, every wee discovery and each new experience, is an adventure in itself... I miss mouching around with a young lurcher, you can go anywhere, do anything,...no problems, no stress...?
  17. They'll be right...?
  18. C'mon now bonny lads, chill out, it's too fecking hot to wrangle about silly bloody dawgs...? Plus,... it's my Birthday,...
  19. A well A well rigged 4z net is ideal for the darkness...? 6z works well during the day...?
  20. Too right,..going up, is the best way... Mind you,..up or down, we still often miss more than we catch.?
