  1. Just a quick update on how things are going ....The club now has over 40 members so were off to a good start. There is from the conversations i have had and pics i have received definitely some genuine working borders out there. The club website is now fully functional [ just a reminder that the forum can only be accessed by members of the club]...There is a section in the forum for workers of non Borders so please think about supporting the club by becoming a member. The club welcomes workers of registered and non registered Borders as long as they are True Workers.
  2. Do any of you fellas have a contact no for A Hurst...works Borders and is from up North...If so could you pm his details for me via a PM only or call me on 07854623592...Thanks.
  3. Hi mate..,im sure it will be worth it in the end..Hope you like the site and things can only get better as they say..
  4. Your membership is pending.........................for over a week. Can you PM me your full name and method of payment you used to join the club...All potential new members have to complete the questions section which has been added to verify they have joined...sorry for the confusion.
  5. New membership cards received today so we will be posting them out over the next couple of days...Thanks for your patience. The club website includes a forum which is for members only and includes a section on it called.... Terrier Talk for workers of non Borders. Unfortunately we will NOT tolerate the small minded behavior you see on some other sites which is always done by pretenders not true terrier men. To all those True terrier men thinking of joining the site..... Please feel free to have a look around it. http://www.workingborderterrierclub.co.uk/
  6. Sorry for not being able to reply any sooner but Ive been flat out on the barn roof. Thanks to all those that have posted in a positive way...Anyway we have received the membership cards so i will be posting those out over the course of next week so please bare with me. The first batch were not up to scratch so we sent them back hence the delay in getting them sent out to you. We have been working hard on the club website and that is now ready for you to have a look at...Certain parts of it are restricted to members only another good reason to join the club, not that you should need one. I ho
  7. guaranteed noun 1.a promise or assurance, esp. one in writing, that something is of specified quality, content, benefit, etc., or that it will perform satisfactorily for a given length of time: a money-back guarantee. P&S if the answer is yes, put me down for a refund. Like i said before there are a lot of good lads on this site but a few people who ruin the site by replying with nothing more than nonsense...Maybe the moderators should take a firmer stand on SHIT posted...Just my opinion to make the site worthwhile posting on...To many people ruin threads by going off to
  8. Sorry no club badge as yet..,Busy spending my spare time on building the club website. The interest in the club has been surprising, having received many emails...If i have overlooked anyone please contact me via my email address or please feel free to call me.
  9. Have been busy designing the club website which should be up and running as soon as i can finish it...Good response to the club from the article in the Countrymans this week. Had a lot of enquiries about people becoming members and have already recieved some applications for membership. All in all a very good start to proceedings, thanks to everyone that has emailed me i will respond to them all in due course...Have just finished the club logo hope you like it....
  10. If you have tried for years, you must really want one,if i really wanted something i would pay the price, this is the same problem that keeps cropping up,there has been a set price paid for borders for years,so why should the man who has worked even harder to keep a working line going sell his cheaper, than those who keep them as pets, surely he is entitled to the same money some people just dont get it and never will ....funny how its a alaunt owner that wrote that I tried the alaunt but it didnt suit, maybe i will get my user name changed to please you,yes some people will never get it,

  14. Good to see the mainly positive comments coming through as regards to the Border Terrier and the formation of the Working Border Terrier Club....The club will exist as stated to promote and improve the Borders ability as a TRUE working terrier.....As regards to standards I'm sure we all know what a Border Terrier should look like. More importantly the first line of the standard states....The Border Terrier is essentially a Working Terrier....That statement has to be at the core of the club and not the price of pups. My thoughts on Kennel Club recognition is as i stated on the top of the first
  15. Firstly let me thank those people that have contacted me since putting on this topic....Just to clear up the EDRD thing let me state that Dave was contacted by myself and had agreed initially in printing something about the club in the magazine. The article was then emailed to him and we then in due course discussed it. Dave decided he did not want to print it in part due to its length i think. Me and Dave continue to be close friends and i respect his wishes as i do the man himself...Dave will be as agreed advertising my new book when it is complete. Its a pity Mr Darcy didn't just PM me in
  16. I hope the initial support which is good to see.... Continues alongside the improvement of the Working Border Terrier.
  17. After many hours of deliberation I have, if albeit, with some trepidation decided to form ‘The Working Border Terrier Club’. Having over time been involved in clubs of one sort or another, I must state from the onset, that the political wrangling from other bodies or back biting from individuals does not interest me in the slightest. My inspiration to get this club off the ground is simply one of intent and purpose. My aspiration is to see that the Working Border terrier does not fall away into the dusty covers of the history books. Much the same as the Fox terrier, Bedlington, Selyha

  20. YOUR A NO ONE.. And i don't suffer idiots gladly...Especially JEALOUS ones...And i know that's what all this is about. Moving my topic which incidentally was as much about me as it was the book....All smells of SHIT.... Questions i have asked still not answered....
  21. Funny how you have come back out the woodwork mate...HELP ME, shouts Darcy...... I aint come a cropper untill now but my hand is f****d admitably... Funny everyone tells me my book is top draw mate... Wait till you see the next one....Going to be XXL same size as you and thats just your mouth.... Im sure all can see through the dirty tricks campaign going on here.... Told you to stop smokin that shit years ago mate....Im paranoid...Lol Cage fighting not my style to many rules.... You still into the dog dealing...What happend to them you had.....
  22. Amazing how my post has been on for so long with no problems if those are the rules then why did IanB agree to it....And why was it left for so long...331 replies and nearly 20,000 views.... I always Knew i would be up against it, trying to promote my book on a site where the moderator of the terrier section had already published.... This moving of my post to the for sale section just goes to prove it... With the ammount posted in that section it soon disappears through the pages eh mate.....You also cast doubt on pics within my book which i took you to task on ...You then deleted that post
  23. Ive read all the modern books on terriers and lurchers that have been coming out for the last 6or so years although i cant remember when lurcher dog addiction came out. Anyway this one is another cracker and good luck with the next. Its great to see working class blokes writing books about field sports. The youngsters can relate well to them because its in there own world.Well worth the money.Well done. Thanks mate..not sure why this has been moved here ... my guess is a certain person wants it to disapear and so placed it here... For the record,,,, I posted the above as it seems a
  24. No actually the book is about a lifetime of working dogs...Not a day... Full of me and mine and not others as others have done !!!! what i was getting at mate was that you only post on here about your book and not about what you have been doing that day with the dogs. And what i am saying is that i dont have time to do everything...Its a case of other things come first at the moment.
