  1. Mk 1 box will work with all collars past and present. i.e. all Mk1 variants, Mk2, original Mk3 and newer Mk3M. Mk3 and Mk3M boxes are interchangable and will pick up Mk3 and Mk3M collars but not Mk1 or Mk2 collars.
  2. Bolted 2 baby rabbits a couple of weeks ago.
  3. It's about 13 minutes long and was produced by Yorkshire TV around 25 years ago.
  4. No surprise to me there copying your stuff or making false claims. He copied my triple ferret box and them made the false claim that he was the first seller on EBay to have them. Strange how I sold some on EBay 18 months before his account was even created.
  5. In theory silver oxide batteries are superior to alkaline ones and will last longer. The important part to look at is the mAh capacity rating of the battery. The higher the mAh the longer they will last. Your collars will need 393 type batteries. I suspect you either got a doggy batch of batteries or brought a different brand to usual that had a very low mAh rating.
  6. Orchards are the same as anywhere, some good, some bad. They have the added bonus of a few free apples \ pears if you time your visit right. One orchard the owner thinks I ferret has no rabbit holes in it, but I always leave with a couple of carrier bags of cooking apples, which are worth considerably more than a brace of rabbits.
  7. Avoid 3 ply hemp it's not strong enough. I would recommend 5 ply over 4 ply if you must use hemp. Polished hemp has a wax coating which in theory makes it last longer than normal hemp. Personally I would go for spun nylon \ poly over hemp any day. Its easier to work with and lasts far longer as it doesn't rot the same as hemp.
  8. Have dealt with them a couple of times without a hitch. Don't trust the prices on their web site they tend to be way out of date. Last time I looked they were still selling brand new Mk1 ferret finders with a collar for £67, but when I phoned them up they said they hadn't had any for a couple of years. Best to give them a ring and discuss what you want.
  9. Mk3 will cut out a lot more of the interference than the Mk1 but still not ideal. In these situations you need the battery hungry Mk2 finder that has a superb anti interference circuit. Try turning your Mk1 finder down to about 3 feet. You should still be able to locate then assuming the ferret isn't too deep.
  10. Ferret collar 2 x 393 (LR48). Terrier collar 2 x 357 (LR44).
  11. Yes it is. You will probably find your existing Mk3 finder has a magnet in it, which shows that the Mk3M collars have been in the pipe line a lot longer than we realise.
  12. They will be type 393 batteries. The larger batteries are 357.
  13. Avoid 4z nets like the plague. There is plenty of debate about what is best but everyone agrees that 4z should be avoided.
  14. £170 is high but achievable, just might take a while to sell. Personally I have given up trying to sell stuff on here as everyone hijacks my posts complaining I'm asking too much. I then sell on EBay at a higher price. Chances are the highest anyone on here will go is £120.
  15. I use both 6" and 8" for rabbit purse nets.
  16. You will make you own nets for about half the price of brought ones. It all depends how you value your time as it will take around an hour to make one net.
  17. There are two pot resistors you fiddle with (about 10mm round and a small screw driver fits in). From my experience its a matter of trial and error and can take an hour to get right.
  18. I have 30 used nets selling on EBay at the moment. They are all 4z with 1" steel rings and hardwood pegs. Most of them are close to new. There are no bids on them and at £20 posted would be a steal even if I say so myself. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/30-Rabbit-Purse-Nets-With-Pegs-used-4z-green-nylon_W0QQitemZ170404386365QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_SportingGoods_Hunting_ShootingSports_ET?hash=item27ace4963d
  19. Thats a good price. Doubt you are going to get it any cheaper.
  20. Doesn't need to be double knotted.
  21. They will bolt just fine. No different to anywhere else.
  22. Works just fine if on a large hob ferret. A little too heavy for a jill.
  23. If its a micro collar then 393 is the right size, otherwise it will be 357 (LR44).
