  1. I will be listing a couple on EBay tomorrow. Both in good working order. A very old 8ft one with a start price of £40. The writing has completely worn off. A newer 8ft one with a start price of £50. Black writing on case. Postage will be £2.50 for second class recorded delivery. There are no collars with either. PM me with an offer or take your chance on EBay.
  2. I use a mark 3 collar and get a rough fix using a mark 3 finder and then switch to a mark 1 finder to pin point.
  3. Sounds like you have an 8' micro collar in which case you need 393 batteries.
  4. Go for the latest Mark 3 ferret finder that has the new pin-point dial. This allows you to turn the volume down and not let the whole neighbourhood know you are around.
  5. Try using renardine, but don't spill any on you. It will take weeks for the smell to fade. I normally use dried teabags rather than rags. A few drops on each is enough and you don't need one in every hole.
  6. I have a mark 1 eight foot collar for sale. Why not PM me an offer.
  7. If you get a Mark 3 make sure it is version 2 with the pin point device added. My personal preference is to use Mark 3 collars, they give out a stronger signal than the Mark 1 ones. I then use a Mark 3 finder to get a rough location and then switch to a Mark 1 finder to locate the exact spot. I would avoid the Mark 2 kit like the plague. Just ask your self, why did Deben supercede it in under 12 months if it was so wonderful. There is an excellent DVD on the market called "The Ferret Man - Gone Rabbiting" which explains the different ferret finders that Deben have made. I do ha
  8. Six weeks give or take a couple of days. Split the ferrets up before she gives birth otherwise the hobs will eat the young.
  9. Don't know where you get your prices from but I had a mark one finder listed on EBay at £35 and it didn't get a single bid. One went for £28-50 the week before. Anyone offers me £100, I would definitely sell them an 8' collar and finder. Currently have for sale 1 x 8' collar and 2 x 8' finders. Also 20 as new hemp purse nets with pegs.
  10. If you are on the right field then doesn't really matter how you set things up. The pigeons will still come in range even if you are out in the open and waving your arms around. Normally best to make sure the sun is behind you. Time of day is whenever it suits you best. Pigeon and crows will come from dawn till dusk.
  11. Does anyone know the part number and \ or supplier of the potentiometer that sits under the wheel of a Deben mark one ferret finder.
  12. Will be bidding on them towards the end if price doesn't go too high.
  13. TOMO, for you information I am an Englishman and not a tight fisted scotsman, but call me what you like, you are entitled to an opinion. Personally I consider a DVD-R writen on with marker pen and supplied in a plastic sleeve expensive at a fiver, when it only costs around 50p to produce and post. Especially when you consider one guy did me a fantastic deal of 26 DVDs for £30 inclusive of postage. Just to clarify, these are all the titles I have picked up off EBay, which sellers claim are non-copyright. I am of a different opinion and have included where appropiate who I think owns the co
  14. Be careful purchasing off EBay. I have purchased the following titles off EBay with the sellers claiming the DVDs are non-copyright. IMO they are copyright material. Also they are ripping you off charging £5 for a copied DVD, I consider £3 a fair price. The Lamper 2 - Dusk till Dawn Ratting with Albert and his Rat Pack at Grindley on the Hill Ratting at the Chicken Farm Night and Day with the Yorkshire Ratters Another Night and Day with the Yorkshire Ratters The Art of Ratting Shooting Times - Decoying Pigeon Hounds terriers and running dogs vol 1 Gypsy and the poacher Lu
