Ive always been taught that pork is to fatty to feed to dogs/hounds, and to only to feed lamb or ewes every now and againg because it blocks the arterys of the dogs/hounds. The best flesh to feed is still born calfs or race horse.

A decent digging spade? seeing as it coming up to the new season ive told the terriermen for the pack I hunt with ill give them a hand, but im going to need a good digging spade. So were could i get one for a piss taking price? Thanks in advance scotty.

ive only really been in on a few digs and never felt comfortable asking why things are done in a certain way, so it would be nice just to tag on and lend a hand to someone who knows what they are doing and learn from how they do things.

Sorry. Lately ive been helping the terriermen for the taunton vale foxhounds. obvisouly not now as the season has finished they could vouch for me if any of you know them. But ive started helping out the huntsman for the west somerset foxhounds. Ive also done a little bit of hunting with the quantok staghounds, tiverton sh and d&s staghounds

Just wondering as ive been in on a few digs with a terrier man for a pack of foxhounds and like the terrier work. And would like to get into this sort of thing but it would be nice to got out with a few people who know what they are doing for a little while so i dont rush out and buy a terrier and then find its not for me, as it not really fair on the dog. So if any of you lot wont to show a beginner how its all done get in touch.

Im pretty sure the terrierman for a pack of minkhounds uses sealyhams or sealyham x's

No all they do is hunt a drag of course but the a few foxs accidently pop up. :whistle:

Here in west somerset we get roe,red,fallow and now there has been sighting of muntjac and sika.

Good evening ladies and gents. Ive just found this forum and have fund alot of the topics very informative. Just a quick introduction to myself. Im Scott i live in somerset and follow the taunton vale foxhounds, west somerset vale fxhounds and the quantock staghounds and also do a bit of deer stalking with a friend of mine who also has 4 good terriers (3 patterdals and a russel type) who we use to dig out foxs that are causing a nusence to local game keepers. Im looking forward to seeing what you all have to say and contributing to this forum.
