  3. I was just wondering if you can mix and match locators and collars? for example would a mk3 deben terrier collar work with a mk3 deben ferret finder? or will i have to go buy a new locator and collars for the terrier?

  6. Took the dogs for a quick run this morning and came across a couple of small warrens first was a 5 holer all easy to get to so i rang my mate and got him to meet me at mine i quickly boxed up the two ferrets grabbed the nets and went back to the place i was at earlier, only a 5 mintue walk from my house, netted the first warren up and entered my silver jill, first rabbit bolted it was no bigger than my fist which ent a good sign but it was shortly followed by a bigger healthy female rabbit, nothing else came of this warren even after i had entered my big albino hobb to try and get any stubbor

  11. Straight outta cashville, looks nice but not very practical, any bit of sunshine and rabbits would see you light years away
  12. well if she is expecting she would have come into season and come out again, she may start mothering the other ferrets if she is with other ferrets (i.e trying to drag them into the nest box) weight gain is another good indication and she will start to nesting aswell

  17. i have a terrier but have never taken her ferreting she is to excitable and tries to follow into the burrow and if i tie her up she howls so i cant win
  18. hope you get your ferret back mate its never nice to lose em out in the feild, let us know if she returns
  19. well i dont think theres a need to reply now lol, i would never dream of using a muzzle after some of the things i have seen or heard of being bolted from rabbit warrens, get yourself a deben mk 3 locator and a couple of collars then get back out with your ferret, as for the time you should give them underground i reckon all depends on the size of the warren and how many ferrets your using, bigger warrens i tend to leave for half hour or so the smaller ones about 10-15 minutes, alot of the time though the ferret will show above ground and if you make your way over to him/her they tend to go ba
  20. cracking looking ferrets mate. for my ferret flooring i have used the big signs tesco use to advertise there deals outside the shop, the thick plastic ones that are encased in the plastic stands, i stapled it about 1" up all 3 walls leaving it stapled to the floor by the door this is only temporary until i get some lino flooring to do the same with as it will last longer
  21. i work all the way through to march then it starts getting over grown and you wil be seeing alot more baby rabbits which in turn will result in a lot more lay ups, with the mk 3 just enter the ferrets with the 2 collars and the receiver will pick them both up so it shouldnt be a problem
  22. don't ever use tweesers, when you apply pressure to the tic to pull it free from the ferret it forces some of the nasty crap from the tic back inside the ferret and can causes damage, i recomend the little green tool you can learn more by checking the search options
  23. just stick to putting em in one at a time mate until you have another collar, i have lost a couple but been lucky enough to get most of em back and its not a nice feeling once you've lost one Nick
