-

-

-
how accurate are you with a spring airgun?
gazguildford replied to ferreterwithnets's topic in Airgun Hunting
Dunno at 30 to 35 yards, but I recently purchased a 2nd user SMK19. When I fired a few test shots in my garden, it put pellet on pellet and heres the proof! (incidently I was GOBSMACKED at the accuracy for such a kick) Fired into a big block of hard wax @ about 20 meters Shots taken standing, as I dont shoot any other way (yet) Bet Couldnt do it again Phantom lol robin hood springs to mind excellent shooting i thought i was alright but yesterday got an aas410 which makes my springer groupings look pants -
i dont know about anywhere else but on my farm durin the day they tend to be here there and everywhere and roost in all the evergreen trees all year round usually the tallest it makes it real tough to distinquish woodies from ferrals though so i dont bother instead i go bunny popping

PRESSURE/THUMB SWITCH COVER FOR LAMPS/LASERS
gazguildford replied to spike25blue's topic in Optics and Night Vision
i have to say my first thoughts were just take out the batteries and to be honest i will still be doing that good try though and hey i bet inventers think of a load of stuff that wont do well but keep plugging away. -
would take you on my permission but the land owner wont let me have a shooting partner and my parents arent keen on anybody on our farm send out some of the letters above and see what turns up
-
i was doin a bit of squirrel control in my dads garden he backs onto a railway line saw loads of rats i never seen em there before but i only managed 1 but were popping squirrel head shots left right and center i mean a rats bigger than a squizzers head? i just can understand it lol anyways good shooting
-
i just bagged myself a great deal on an aas410 carbine full kit bottle silencer scope case the works for not much more than your top end budget have a look around and near xmas people are needing the money good deals about mate just have to look

All the stupid ones round my way are dead!!! When I turn up they all leg it big time, that's why they have survived this long and why I favour the 12g in Semi Auto...at least I can get one or 2 more as they dissapear!! Also remember you can always try decoying and /or baiting even for the air rifle i cant really bait or it attracts the other sort of rat the one without wings lol and i dont think decoying is for me although i never really tried it i do like a good walk through the woods and seeing a fat old woodie hit the deck with a thud lol
-
ok ok when walking round the edges do you ever find half a dozen "divvys" lol fly but the odd one just sits there? it sometimes happens like that for me but usualy from the edges im shooting from 25 to 35 yards im not to suttle with my feet lol
-
just intrested in peoples views now the leaves are of the trees do you prefere to sit in a hide and wait or walk through the woods and take long range shots? i personally do both but prefere to sit and wait (although its too cold now)
-
not sure if this counts but i was shooting pigeons in trees when i bent down for something in my hide i noticed a bunny sat 10 yards infront of me but then it did have mixie
-
hi i saw on you tube a guy drilled tiny holes on the dark side of the magso he didnt need anymore shot counting has anyone done this or would they consider it? heres the link say what you think (hope the link works) http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=_Vlb3TrZYQo thought it might be of some use
-
just like golf (im cack) but similar principle keep your eye on the ball even after its gone or ull go sque whiff and i agree its difficult to master as ur natural reaction says "oh wheres that going?" so u automatically look
-
I use CR123A batteries in both of mine but you can also use Ultrafire TR18650's. The nylon strap will do a good job but if your looking fo something more permanant the LOOK HERE... thanks fella batteries are exspensive 5 for £8 man hopefuly they last a while lol cheers again
-
i took ur advice on a previous topic that was held and purchased one of those lamps cheap and cheerful if its cack i can toss it in the bin anyway i have an underlever so it needs to be mounted to the scope so i bought a nylon strap mount is there anything that would do a better job? i bought it today so have a while to get it sorted. atb gaz p.s what batries does it use or do i have to use the american ones i cant work out all theyre figures and stuff
-
all them distances and practice practice practice until ur confident with all the ranges and youll be alright its best once u have done the distances just chuck some targets on the ground scatter them about without markings then shoot em again see how you do on that sometimes a target is either 5/10/15/20/25 so on yards but others they are 7/12/17/22 yards it all helps find your ranges
-
with the squirrels its best to let em run rather than miss if you let em run they will be back just as soon as you lower your sites if you miss then they take time to gather theyre thoughts but will still come back they are as thick as pig **** and i personally find squirrels tough quarry to shoot easy to kill but to drop em dead isnt always easy. i think as mention targets at different distances is a good idea plus it will help you steady yourself i know when adrenalin pumps its sometimes hard to take your time but rushing will do you no favours but most importantly when you start droppin

there was a great review for the scorpion t10 all started well and all the problems he had towards the end of the review has now definately put me of going for the t10 all is looking good for the s410 at the moment however im still hoping and searching for a review on the falcon i think its a great looking piece of kit but its no good looking good and in liams words "not being able to hit a cows arse" lol it does say that falcon are now under the wing of aa but are they being built by aa or aa have just bought out falcon?
-
no worries id be lying if i said i didnt have a little chuckle at all that guff! and i would love a theoben but my budget just wont allow it. i think i probably will go with an aas410 not sure if ill get a classic of a carbine or in .22 or .177 still got a bit of time to decide cheers fellas
