  1. Thanks, I was in a hurry because i was planning on going this weekend and wanted abit of advice. I have some snare wires now(unfortunately not good quality ones) so i wont try and use string or tree roots lol. I will get some good quality snares but as i now have some cheap ones i'll try them out tomorrow. I was just wondering about the rabbits screaming because it is quit near a public place. thanks
  2. Hi mate. The snare is just meant to hold the rabbits 'till you come along to dispatch them. They are usually still alive unless they get tangled in something. Check at first light and again before dark. If snaring in the summer for pest control, then three times a day is needed. thanks, it's just i have seen a video on youtube on called something like "snaring pedangun" and nearly all the rabbits were dead already and also one of the rabbits that was still alive screamed alot. .Does this usually happen? Thanks
  3. Thanks Ellir, i also want to now how long it takes them to die in the snares and is it my suffocation or stress because I don't want them to suffer and would be happy to dispatch them by hand, so if anyone can tell me how long it takes then i will base how often i check the snares on that timeline. Thanks
  4. What is the approximate size-width of the tunnel because i have an old cage and i just need a tunnel. cheers
  5. I am only looking to catch a few for the pot, i'm not trying to cull hundreds for pest control etc. So they should be alright to just catch a few which is all i want to do. thanks
  6. yep, they're the ones! Was this a good choice or not? thanks from what iv read on here bud i dont think so  But why not?? thanks
  7. From what other peopel have sead i think you can set snares any night any time of the year, But i'm not completely sure. oh yeah, i made the post asking if i could set snares on a rabbit hole and it's not i wind up. :realmad: thanks
  8. yep, they're the ones! Was this a good choice or not? thanks
  9. Well, i bought a pack of 10 brass snares 4 about £4:00 from decoying Uk is this a good choice? thanks
  10. I would have thought that string would be more humane because it doesn't cut into there necks and would probably just hold them there like a live trap but i have never done this before so it's likely that i am wrong. also...Can i put any snare at a burrow entrance or would it not work? thanks
  11. If you have permission then why set in entrance to burrows. Set on the runs lot easier. PM geordie on here, he makes top class snares. It's just string isn't stiff so it would need to held up or something unlike wire and most of the runs were i have permission are in the open with nothing to prop it up against
  12. I have read them and know about the how the snare should be a certain height etc but i was wondering if there is anything i could use instead of wire because i have none lol thanks so why dont you go and buy some... I have bought some but it was off the internet and probs wont get them in time
  13. I have read them and know about the how the snare should be a certain height etc but i was wondering if there is anything i could use instead of wire because i have none lol thanks
  14. hi, i am going to do some rabbit snaring but i have no snare wire, i have read though that you can use tree roots or string. Will this work?and could i put snares right at the entrance of their burrows? When using string it isn't stiff so i won't be able to put it in the open on rabbit runs so is there another way? thanks!
  15. Oh yeah! i'm suprised i forgot that no bait is needed because i thinking of putting one on our fence without any bait!Do you think that a fence is a good place for it to go on?or maybe by a bird feeder. thanks for the info
  16. thanks but last of all what bait should i use? (i was thinking bird seed and peanuts) where should i site it?(near the birdfeeder?) and how do you dispatch them? i was going to use an air rifle but then i would have to clean up the trap all the time because of blood. thanks
  17. thankyou!!!!!! what material would you use for the "U" just normal wire?
  18. thanks but i don't understand how it traps the squirrel and the "U" wire bit.
  19. couldn't you just use sticks intead of bobwires.it would be cheaper.
  20. Can anyone tell me how to make a seesaw trap for squirrels. thanks
  21. I shoot them in a farm yard but the majority spend most there time in the nearby town eating junk.
  22. hi can you give any info on the king ratcher i am looking for oneare they ok how power full are they thanks.alf Is the ratcatcher the same as the king ratcatcher?because if they are, the ratcatcher is meant to be a good light, accurate gun but not very powerful, only useful for shooting rats and pigeons around a yard,i'm not sure this is true but that is what i have been told. Does anyone hear know much about the BSA tactical Xl because im thinking of getting this. thanks Greg
