I fancy getting a shooting stick for lamping as i dont really want to get down onto a wet field whilst out lamping and using the bipod, can anyone recommend some ? I found THESE but have anyone tried them ?
Thanks,
Whippeter
Just weighed my rifle and it comes in at just a fraction over 10LBS, is this ok or a bit heavy for a nights rabbiting ? But i will be doing a bit of sitting out side the rabbit warrens with the bipod.
Was that a question or a statement?
He needs what his region tells him he needs!
Not sure you NEED a mentor for a .22LR but my force have given me this condition, but not sure how long it lasts
SAKO Finnfire .22LR
SAK MODERATOR
HAWKE AIRMAX 3-9X50
Will be buying a Leupold 3-9X50 Soon and a Harris Bi-Pod and got a sling to go on it but with the gamekeeper at the moment.
3 shots at 50yards
This one was in the gun shop for about 3 months but i had my eye on a CZ STYLE but couldn't resist the FinnFire so i had it and so bloody glad i did, what a piece of kit
Went to pick up my rifle today. Its a Sako FinnFire .22LR fitted with a HAWKE 3-9x50 Airmax Scope and a SAK Moderator. Went after school to pick it up and have been with my mentor o ZERO it in and it was a lovely sound when it fired. We shot about 15 bullets to get it zeroed at 50yds and finished with the pic below of the group of 3 shot at 50yds.
3 Shots at 50YDS
Will be putting a butler creek sling on it and harris bipod soon. Im very chuffed with this rifle, cant wait to get it out on rabbits. Bullets used were Winchester Subsonic.
Cheers

Well il be picking up my Sako Finnfire on thursday or wednesday and hope to get picks up soon. Cheers guys.
FAC came today guys. Got authority to acquire a .22RF and a .22RF moderator, plus authority to store 400 rounds of .22RF ammo.
One question tho guys, i asked for a .22LR, shouldn't that be down on the certificate instead of RF ?
Thanks
Haven't posted in a while so hes a quick one guys.
Just back from lamping with a few mate. Went to a permission for some rabbits and i took my trusty 20Bore. Shot a rabbit at 40Yards first field and went into the nest to see a fox sat about 100yards away, changed from the 28gram 71/2 to my Eley Alphamax 28gram BBs in 20Bore. Started squeaking and he was not interested my mate turned to the left with the lamp to see a small fox running up the field about 60yards in-front of us. It went just behind the brow so i kept squeaking and was waiting with the gun for him to pop his head over, he cam
Just put down the caliber you want the air rife you want and then write Air Rifle
Not to sure on the pellet one ( Some one will have a good answer)
A good one for the .22lr is 500 to buy and 600 to keep
For the Hornet 100 to buy and 200 to keep
I send my app off on 2nd of May and had the inter view a week later and nothing. Im so close to ringing them up and having a go, There is no excuse for their lazyness,
Brilliant night matey, Good shooting.
how could anyone say its a waste? You course rabbits dont you ? but people also shoot them, so whats the problem, and as FH its the ONLY way of controlling them legally !
