  1. Theres is nothing wrong with what the police have done here. Its a duty for all shotgun/rifle certificate owners to lock up their guns when not in use. If they arnt being used/cleaned or repaired then they must be in the owners safe out of the reach of criminals or thieves. He should have known better!
  2. Nice to hear that you are not one of these that 'dont give a shit' and go on any land mate. You, with this attitude will in the end have a fair amount of permission under you're belt, dont you worry. Im 17 and have been going round asking for permission for 4-5 years and the only way you will do it is approaching the farmers. Just tell them who you are, and ask if they have any problems with pest on their land. Explain the methods you use and why you use them and what effect they have. All they can say is no, give it a try mate.
  3. Went out lamping on a rather newish permission that me and my friends have. I ferreted on it about 4 years ago when i first discovered ferreting but forgot about it, rather stupid actually because its 750 acres haha. But my and my 3 mates arranged a night to lamp and cover the whole farm. I had me .22lr friend number 2 had his 17hmr and my other mate had his 22lr Ruger, the fourth was driver lamper. We took turns in shooting and made it as safe as we could. We started off by me and the driver/lamper turning up at the farm and letting the owner know that we would be lamping tonight, as it w
  4. Try hanging a disk off a pole so it can twist in the air, this is used by keepers to deter the BOP from going for the poults in the pens. Very effective method believe it or not. Then again you might get some nob on here that says it isn't!
  5. NO. Basically you're never going to get a good scope unless you pay the money, trust me, i learnt the hard way! Buy from top quality makers, not top quantity makers. That way you will have a good scope and will last years if looked after!!
  6. Nice pictures mate, especially of the young one.
  7. Plant life looks 'a bit green' for in season.....
  8. Im sure he uses a CAM rifle in .223 custom stock (taken from a walnut tree in his back garden) and a T4 Mod on his rifle.
  9. Or you could get one of those scopes specifically for the quad that has multi zeros....... colour coded bands on the turret that match the barrels. Think they're made by bushnell I think Swarovski make then, and they cost about £2000 mate, far to much for any rimfire and who has all four calibers ?
  10. I think you're dreaming mate. I cant see some one for example getting two .243's ,one zeroed for 75grain bullets for fox's and the other zeroed for 100grain for reds, its just not going to happen. Why not get a .17 and that will do you fine for the longer ranges. Plus the .22 HV rounds dont tend to be that accurate but i have had 1" groups with Remington Yellow Jackets.
  11. I would have to vouch for the Ruger. Iv handled a few and the trigger on them is VERY good. The action is nice and smooth and all in all a very good rifle. If you want value for money go for the CZ but if you want more, the Ruger will suit you down to the ground.
  12. Was zeroing a mates 17HMR once and took a shot all i heard was a CLICK, looked at my mate and thought what the f**k happend. My mates said all he saw was a small amount of smoke come out the end of the mod. So took the bolt out, looked at the round, bullet missing and powder still present....... OW SHIT! Looked down the barrel and sow BLACK, i knew what happend and the only way we were to resolve the problem was to push it out with a cleaning rod. Got the bullet out and gave another look down the barrel and saw day light. Just goes to show how easy it could have been if an unexpe
  13. If the firearms are not being used then the police see no good reason for him having them and will most likely take them from him. BUT seeing as he does use small amounts of rounds at weekends, its likely that the police will reduce the amount that he is allowed to hold and buy.
  14. My sako finnfire likes the winchester super x sub sonics. Very good round and damage on the rabbits head it very good. My fav HV round in the sako is the Remington Yellow Jacket. VERY good grouping and will drop a fox within 80yards. Awesome little round and i dont have to re zero my gun, the buller it 4 inches above the winchesters.
  15. Iv got a farm on my doorstep matey and about 6 weeks ago i could look over my hedge and see little rabbits playing, now i have a look and nothing. Went for a wonder the other day and shot a 1/2 grow rabbit with mxy, no wonder i haven't seen any. Its wiped out 3 of my farms of about 75 acres each and all good for rabbiting, really enoying, sorry for you're news matey.
  16. I think you will find that its not the dog that the keeper will not like its the person with the dog. We all know there are a few (a lot actually) violent lurcher men out there and that the keeper does not want to take any chances.
  17. The PUMAS are a copy of the CZ mate and tbh they are not as good, cheep copies and thats it, you get what you pay for and if you want quality for money go CZ.
  18. Hia mate, i work in a gun shop and can tell you now, if you want reliability, quality and a fantastic gun BENELLI. You just can beat their technology inside the gun. No moving parts under the forearm, less to clean, cycles low gram carts and will shoot hundreds of thousands in a live time (some of the benelli's have been through 500,000 rounds and still going)
  19. Hia mate, iv got the exact same rifle as you and its amazing, love it to bits and awesome accuracy. Just wondering where did you get that 10 shot mag from, iv been looking for one for a while now and have no luck,Thanks, Whippeter
  20. Nice shooting mate. Thats a tikka T3 is it not ? What cal is it matey, just curiou haha, and where i wales did you get those fuckers ?
  21. Hia mate, theres a new one out now called the Premier. Its got fluted barrel, set trigger, jewelled bolt and engraving on wood and metal. We've got them in the shop in .22 and 17 rimfire caliber.
  22. Hello there matey. Might be worth mentioning where you are and what you want from the day (Decoys included or do you have you're own)
