    Well we are not going to rush into anything at the moment and we are only seeking advice although independant advice would be advantageous, but I suppose anyone in the 'business' is going to sell themselves. With ours we believe she has a lot of potential her great grandmother was an outstanding field dog, as was one of her brothers' therefore we would like to look at continuing that line as we want to keep at least one of the litter.

    Question for you lot I've got plenty of time well at least over a year? We have a golden retriever who is currently 18 months old, in the near future we will be looking to discuss with our vet about hip score and eye test. If the results are good enough that we can carry on the breed, at the end of next years shooting season we would like to look at her having a litter otherwise we will look at spaying. In the shooting circle I am part of, Spaniels and Labradors are the only other dogs so I am worried about finding a sire and I’m also worried about interbreeding. Looking back in her pa

    How I got my dog to stop to whistle was by getting her to sit to whistle, so every time I said sit I then blew the whistle once. When she had grasped that in the garden I would then blow the whistle she would sit then I would back away, further each time until I was about 3 meters then walk around her in 360 degrees. Each time returning back and giving praise. I then moved out into the field but after the whistle I would always go to her, after 8 months of doing that I am now starting to work on the get back command.

    I use a Streamlight TL about 1.5 hours run time if I leave it on in the back of the landrover Then fitted on something similiar to this, although that is a TL3 It's light weight and gives me enough light you can even have different colour shades if that's your bag. It's not big I know but then size isn't important

    The above mentioned dogs are all good recommendations Springers will all ways be life and soul and keep keen and working Clumbers well everything susy has said I'm very impressed with them as a rough farm shoot type beating dog and will pretty much go everywhere a springer will but like a bull in a china shop. Labs probably the easiest to train and always a good selection available to buy. I will put forward a golden, yes, longer to mature than most other breeds but excellent with a family and when trained can be better than a lab but in a way have gone out of fashion amongst shooters.
