  1. forgot to mention, the hob i currently have is a castrated hob, so dont think he would be territorial, not to sure if it was the hob doing the damage either
  2. A mate was lookign a ferret, and i was meant to meet him this weekend. so got a new young hob from a mate and then found out the weekends hunting has been cancelled due to gales. i thought nothing of it, and put the ferret it with the others. ive put ferrets in before lots of times without even a squabble. checked in an hour later no problem. then checked the next day, no problem, altho the kit seemed to hide in the sleeping compartment most of them time, just a little nervous i assumed. then this mornign i was woken my screaming of a ferret. got up and ran down, to find this new hob with bloo
  3. robbie where in the country are you? give him plenty of fed ups, and from warm rabbits if possible, maybe caught by a friends bird not much earlier? also on days when your not flying, through a rabbit head into his avairy, it will keep him contented for hours, help him associate it with food, and could encourage him to go for head holds, when he does go to strike at the rabbits.
  4. sorry i aint posted any hutning reports recently, my camera has decided to go walk abouts. anyway, headed out last night with kev. got to farm at about 11:15. had about 6 flights and 3 rabbits. 1 rabbit was a squatter, you can see in the video, i gave it plenty of time, stampign my feet, but it just wouldnt bolt, eventually i just slipped rolf on it, and he caught it just leaving the seat, quite impressed at him, not often he gets the squatters. 2nd kill was brilliant flight, another squatter, but it outwitted him and he missed it twice before catchign it, then got kicked off a few seconds lat
  5. cheers lads, out last night so may be more footage coming it really depends on conitions, sometimes you get 3 in 3 flights, soemtimes go for hours for one rabbit. usually about 1 in 6 or so tho. will change as the rabbits get cuter tho
  6. i did write up a big report, but some prat turned the computer off, so this is the short version, out last night, bright moon, and not to breezy. start of the night was bad with only seeing a few rabbits and hardly getting near anyway. tried a differenet part of farm and had a few good flights. one kill was a decent one along the edge of the field, another was a squatter, which he caught and got a bit of a dragging from. cudnt hunt on after that as i think he deserved a feed after holding it so long. heres the video of the last rabbit and heres a pic, forgot camera, but had to do s
  7. i can pick up my my mates mk3 collars, but he cant pick up my mark 1. not too sure on accuracy, but if i rmemeber rightly, it wasnt the best
  8. one year old jill ferret, polecat coloured. she is free to good home. the reason for gettign rid of her is i never really had the chance to try her out yet, and dont think its fair to leave here in the hucth all day, never getting out to hunt. she is also lovely to handle. Belfast area pm me if interested Sean
  9. wood shavings been using them for few years now without any problems, did try shredded paper, but it doesnt seem to soak up there piss as good. and stinks alot more.
  10. any idea what this could be? the thing also had a good few fleas of some sort on it, no sign of myxi at all on this rabbit, or any rabbit ives ever had on the farm, or general area. just thought this was a little weird, its on both ears, might just be dried blood from fighting tho very orange?

  13. i was told by vet only give it once a week, if im using a diet of whole chicks odd rat and odd quail.
  14. good luck on the new season ahead mate it looks a really really good year for the rabbits
  15. sorry i meant not to be mixing the food on the same day, some people take gust out, some dont. if its from the lieks of honeybrrok, or a reptile shop, i wouldnt bother.
  16. i was always told to feed one type of food a day and dont mix, its waists the nutrients or something. keep the guts in the quail too
  17. i dont see the point in small spades, it means your having to carry them, while if they were larger, you can use them as a walking stick

    mews

this is my avairy, its 8x12, its an old pic, and has slightly changed a little. The mews was the easy part, drainage was a nightmare
  20. Bit like saying what did the Romans ever do for us eh. Association Football matey, not bad, Rugby, Cricket and Conkers. Or do you mean the British Empire that gave back territories " seized " when the natives asked nicely ? Or do you mean good old Britain standing up against Napoleon, Kaiser Willie or dear old Adolf and Mussolini. Maybe the 60 year presence in Germany to try and ward off Soviet aggression. Not sitting on the fence, moaning in a Beer glass waiting to see who wins. I know, its the mother of all parliaments which you refer to, the model that is copied all ov
  21. ive located my ferrets to 6 feet, but if thats the case i wait it out (unless the trap themselves), sometimes flapping a dead rabbit at a hole can help. once at a field meet, and a mates ferret laid up, most have been about 5 foot, when he got 4 foot, it was dark, and had to leave it overnight, next day after digging deeping, we realised there was a concrete pipe for the last foot, had to break through it, luckily teh ferret lived
  22. FPO yoru right, most people dont mind the normal working people and become part of teh society. nobody cant tolerate spongers, thugs, drug dealers etc. but these are a minority, we shouldnt condem them all because of what a few have done. gnasher, ive never seen the issued raised much on other forums, i just think its strange that it mainly happens on huntign forums, surely this could become a problem, the lieks of antis who get onto the forum, will prejudge us all as racists
  23. how come on any other forum, about other interestest or hobbys, racist is never brought up, while on this forum, and many other hunting forums, it is occuring every single day. these thugs you all talk about are a minority. Just look at how your own country has treated others!!
