  1. You just can't educate the lad Bosun, the most kennel blind lad to ever grace the pages of THL and there's been a few.
  2. There was a time I could of give 2 lurchers and 2 terriers all the work they could handle but that day is over with having other commitments. It's just the way life goes for most.
  3. I'd say FOXHUNTER is a lovely fella to work with and wouldn't say boo to a goose.
  4. The only folks round these parts that own sand slugs are the gypos and you only have to look at their boxing vids to see why they like em, both are like watching fcukin paint dry lol. They Love making videos of their paint drying bouts and posting it all over the Internet and making call-out videos. Lol. Sounds familiar mac don't ye think. ???
  5. Its probably similar to your own coastline kev but with less sunny days lol, but when the weathers nice it's really spectacular, my lad with autism loves the sea and we get to see a different side to him when he's in amongst it, the other 2 love the rock pools but he's down the beach at a 100 mph. Lol.
  6. Me personally I'd hold back an overly eager young dog a bit longer than I would one that's shows very little interest.
  7. Looks like a brilliant day Kev. We spent the day on a lovely beach in Donegal with beautiful weather and stunning scenery.
  8. Genuine question stonewall but do you always wait until your terriers are 2 years old before starting them?
  9. Two different things indeed. Another thing is showing a young dog it's first few foxes with another dog which in my opinion is bollox and not needed if the breeding is right.
  10. Im not trying to rub anyone up the wrong way Sammy but if a dog is bred for the job and has had a bit of work put into it then at anything over 18 months it's the owner that's not mentally ready to give the dog a go. Lol. I've seen young dogs show no interest but that's different from not giving it a look.
  11. If your dogs are bred right why would you wait till 2 years of age to show them a fox, if a lurcher that's bred right and reared right isn't ready for a look between 14 and 18 months then there's something up.
  12. Always enjoy a small fresh river brown trout fryed in the pan.
  13. Perfect way to start, always preferred for them to start in the day and under their own steam.
  14. Some will never be mentally ready no matter how long you wait that's the thing, I'm not talking about throwing them at stuff at 12 months old and definitely some mature later than others but there has to be a cut off point where it just takes getting a face full to see it they're up for it.
  15. If he's looking keen to give them a go then at 19 months I'd be letting him find out if he's cut out for the job, I've never owned a lurcher that hadn't seen its first fox by 14 months but they were bred for that specific work, I've seen puppyish dogs change completely offer starting on foxes and become more confident in themselves. Nothing like graft to focus a young dog.
  16. There's 2 young lads work in our place tats on almost 500 a week and are skint every Monday, neither drive and rely on family members for lifts, it's fcukin sad.

  18. Or the lads complaining about being broke but have a 300 quid a weekend coke habit.
  19. And some of the most successful come from fcuk all with no education.
  20. I know lads that will give 4 or 5 terriers their fill of work. But like you say for the average fella 2 is plenty and sometimes it's 1 to many.
