  1. Do you have a dog? If you do and its well trained start beating at some shoots. You'll find a well trained dog will open doors mate . Keep asking
  2. If you click on the link then scroll down all Bushnell scopes are listed . http://www.jjvickers.com/brand-content.php?id=1 Hope this helps
  3. Zastava make rifles for Remington. I've heard that they shoot best with a Bushnell 3200 3-9x50 using 30cal 150g SP PPU . One of the best beast bashing combo's .
  4. This is mine ............85 varmint 308 . I use this for both target and game, I find the heavy barrel best. It is a big lump to carry if its got my North Star mod on........... the only thing that would tempt me away from my 85 varmint woud be a TRG 22 .
  5. Quote Jonty "Its not the weight of the bullet its the length of bullet that determines what twist rate it can be fired through. It just so happens that heavy bullets are long. Light ballistic tip bullets tend to be long for their light weight so that might suggest how my tactical is able to stabilaze light rounds." Sorry but this is wrong It the weight of the bullet that determins the twist heavy bullets are designed for tight twists. Barrel Twist Rate 1:14" or 1:12" 1:9" 1:8" 1:7" or 1:6.5" Max Bullet Weight 55gr FB 65gr FB 73gr BT 8
  6. Oh dear...a little bold this one I think.... By "correct hands" ..... I take it you mean an Olympic standard Pistol shooter compared to a back garden air rifle plinker!! I have not said any thing about air rifle? And I am bold!
  7. I have both the guns your looking at The tikka is in 223. Both guns are superb , but the Sako has the edge over the Tikka. The quality of the Sako is just brill and the mag is a pleasure to use whare the Tikka can be abit of a pain. But both a great to use. If your looking to do alot of Stalking they are heavy to lug about especialy if you have a mod on. Mine are shod with Bushnell 4200's and I have a Aus Utra Northstar for the Sako. All the best.....you wont go wrong with any of them
  8. Sorry guys I've just read the biggest load of pish about the inaccuracy of pistols . I have been a competitive pistol and rifle shooter for over 23 years, shot for various clubs at Police Pistol 1 , Police Pistol 2, Police Pistol 1500 , NPA service Pistol B ,NRA service pistol A (Browning only)and Practical Pistol all shot between 50 and 10 meters I was also in the RNR and shot for them (Pistol ,SLR and SMG ). I have competed in the last 10 pistol AD meetings at Bisly before pistols were banned. I have owned 9mm ,10mm 38, 357, 44 and 45 calibre pistols and never found any of them inacc
  9. I started with 55g ppu, good grouping. but now it seams to be all over, done the normal checks scope ect, the remmington accutip groups in the inch but would prefer the pricing of the PPU, i have just ordered 75g ppu to see if that comes back in. What have you decided on? Just remember 75graines are for "tight twisted barrels "........ I use 75grain PPU at long range "they are the dogs"
  10. All my rifles have Bushnell scopes. Won't go passed them I have a Trophy on my 22 and a few months back it fell of the bonnet of a land rover and the reticl started to move back and fourth with the zoom, sent it back to JJ Vickers along with £20 P&P got a new scope sent back . The scope was over a year old and bought from E-bay. My other rifles have Bushnell 4200's on them and are just superb , for the money Bushnell as the dogs
  11. I've just got a Asu Utra Northstar .... superb all stainless no cleaning. It's on my 308 and works well. It a wee bit dearer than some but well worth it. At up to 200m there is no diferance in pont of aim with the mod on or off.
  12. Thanks for the info .... but the rifle has been set back to GMK. The problem was not the extractor it was not ejecting the empty case from the breech, the case would just fall on top of the mag. As the rifle was still under warranty I sent it back. So lets see how long it takes to come back? I use factory and reloads in the gun both were doing the same. Cheers
  13. Optilock rings are the same for a Sako and Tikka but the bases are totaly different. Tikka bases are sraight and the Sako are dovetailed. I can assure you that the quality and reliability are superb. I have them on my Tikka and Sako. You can also get rings that do not need bases. just look at the Sako or Tikka web site.
  14. I have a Tikka T3 varmint 223 and Sako 85 varmint 308. Both are superb but the Sako is way ahead of the Tikka as far as quality. You'll find that the Tikka is a cheeper made Sako. I'm having a wee bit of problems with the Tikka , it won't eject the fired case and it also has a firing pin problem. We'll see how long this takes to get sorted from the dealer and GMK? I realy don't like the way the Tikka ejects the case, it's with a plunger and spring type ejector and a resessesed bolt face, the Sako has a fixed ejector a much better system. Both guns are very accurate both with home loads and
  15. Need some help....... my T3 is having ejection problems it's a 223 . The case is not getting flicked out of the breech. I'm getting a extractor and ejector with the springs sent from GMK. Has anyone striped a T3 bolt? If so is it easy? There looks like only a spring pin that holds the ejector in place, if this is removed will the extractor come out to? This is to save me sending the gun away. Cheers
