  1. Looking for a hob Yorkshire area, to become my vac hob so don't want an old one, do like the Silvers and black eyed whites, also will pay
  2. Got to say went out today, and no nests yet, just one pregnant out of 9, so might get one more in next week.
  3. Will be leaving the dogs at home, made that mistake earlier asking if I could come on land with my Lurcher, def no straight away, didn't click it was because a lot of farmers don't like dogs on their land, plus if your running dogs on the farmers land other people might think they can do it, strictly be asking ferrets and nets till I get on.
  4. I'd get the photo's on facebook people will soon start sharing the photos, especially in the Lurcher groups, fingers crossed for you
  5. I've got quite a while till next season, Golf courses is a good one cheers got two near me, just going to have to go out with the husband and go knocking doors, slap a bit of make up on haha. On a good note going out this Sunday for the last time this season with our friend who's been teaching us and taking my ferrets to see what they are like!! feel quite excited to be taking my own ferrets out
  6. hows it bred Janine Hancock Collie/grey Dam x Whippet sire, 20 months
  7. Haha knowing my luck I'd get my stuff taken off me, think my problem is they are Dairy Farmers around here and sheep so rabbits not affecting anything. Also do I need insurance?? what would I need insurance for apart from breaking my ankle falling over brambles I'm just going to have to pluck courage and go knocking on doors I've got a few months before next season to do it.
  8. How hard is it just to get your foot in the door!! being going out this season with my friend and totally love it, obviously can't keep going out on his permission so have being trying to find my own, wrote a lettter to every farmer around me, my friend laughed and said I need to go and speak to them, but don't want to be knocking on their door. I hate it when people knock my door trying to sell me something!! Did get permission in some woods near by me, we went to check it out not any sign of rabbits a few very old warrens and lots of squirrels. How did people get their permissions?
  9. don't know about that now It's easier for a woman to say it
  10. He looks gorgeous and Lurcherlink do a fantasic job rehoming a lot of Lurchers that otherwise wouldn't stand a chance and part of running a rescue all dogs have to be neutered better to lose your balls than to be PTS.
  11. What a bargain!!! I got the Canon 1100D with just the 18-55 for £160 2nd hand last year, had to wait for this christmas to get the 55-250 lens haven't really taken it out with new lens don't want to get it wet or ruin it Fab photos
  12. Mine whippet x Hancock 1/2 collie/ 1/2 greyhound sire Arthur
  13. We've always started around 9.00am quick tea and off it's amazing how fast time goes by and don't you hate it when that ferret goes missing at the end of the day where's that spade!! haha
  14. West Mount Vets, they are in Huddersfield, won't the ferrets in rescue just be castrated? and if they are would they still want to be having sex?
  15. Thats what I was thinking, my mate breeds from his, he said to ask on here if anybody had a vasectomised male on here! which I just thought would be easier to sort myself than to have to rely on other people I need to be coming to your vets that really good, will have to ring round, but like I said if anybody knows any in West Yorkshire
  16. Said with spaying it can effect the adrenal glands and because they don't deal with a lot of ferrets the injection on the Jill would cost £300 because I would have to buy the whole bottle does anybody know a vet that deals with ferrets in West Yorkshire?
  17. I'm getting my first working ferrets tomorrow two Jills, after going out ferretting with my friend and really liking it. My question is they are going to come into season and I don't really want to be breeding from them otherwise I might end up overrun with ferrets, I've rung my vet who doesn't really deal with a lot of ferrets and to have a vasectomy on a hob it's £235 which is quite a lot of money I think!! the implant on the Jill is £228 and the to be spayed £88 but doesn't recommended that. What do people do?
