at least you got to practice your hobby I have done jobs to help out to got permission around farms etc from cutting down damaged trees to fixing fences at my own expense and had guys promise you the earth and been where u was just smile Mate and yeah some great replies made me laugh

I would agree with guys if dog is willing to work let him as some dogs mature early and have a head for work I had a pup that was keen to chase work at 7 months and I was tempted to hold her back but I gave small bolts when ferreting twice a week by the time pup was 18 months it was a machine and to be honest best dog I have ever owned sometime just trust nature and give pup it's head but I wouldn't let it work more than twice a week keeps them keen just my opion but ken lots disagree we this approach

I use to run a few lure coursing events up my way we a member on here few years ago got some ground from local farmers to host it on few lads who was into ferreting manage to get some land to work on because farmers seen we weren't thugs we dogs that was not a danger to live stock and crops but I believe if we can get land owners to support the use of working dogs then this can only help our cause to get our views heard and understood and help expel the myth that we are all organised criminals wanting to rape pillage and plunder

Pity there is not a offical body to fight lurcher mens cases up and down country to dispel the fact we ain't morons we dog then and make goverment see that the hunting acts are bias and make no sense

Why is it ok to use birds of prey to kill hares but not dogs as result is the same can anyone give me a reasonable anwser to why the laws allows one but not the other ? As I have always question this but never figured it out
