  4. Cant see mesh sizes in the above posts?? .. so why comment? and if a 2" (4 "full mesh) catches better than a larger mesh size why bother ??after all its a purse net ?.. a smaller in length net set amongst hedges e.t.c. will purse better than a 4ftt jobby Fact! .. Then again what the F@k do I know as I only get out and about once Her indoors lets me of the leash ...
  5. Glad your happy with the nets Flacko,, always a pleasure dealing with You .. there good nets and will work just fine for the places that You have in mind .. Regards,,
  6. Most enjoyable write up .. goes to show that if we all waited for perfect conditions if there's such a thing I doubt many nets would see the darkness ...
  7. a bottom fishing nets nightmare , nasty buggers yep! he wanted it in 2z nylon but lifes to short for that carry on haha... whilst i have you will a number 1.5 or 2 flexie line be ok for a standard 4 inch inner 4 ft deep trammel with no3 lead line? or will i need a bigger float line..i normaly use no3 flexi but its getting expensive now I would use a number 2 with the 3 lead line,, or why not rig onto a 6mm rope as there's buoyancy in the rope with a float around 8 or 9 foot apart,, be cheaper in the pocket ,, I rigged a few earlier in the year with 24" walls , 4" inner and wait
  8. a bottom fishing nets nightmare , nasty buggers
  9. I rigged this up over the weekend, around 45 yards fishing length and has a fishing depth of 20 foot .. the netting is a single strand of monofilament with a mesh size of 2 1/8" by 150 meshes deep .. the head rope is 6mm braided poly with a float set every 3 1/2 foot .. and the rigging twine is 1mm braid. the lead line is a number 2 .. Regards..
  10. Nope ,,, to much slack !
  11. I rigged this wee trammel at the start of the week,, 4" inner mesh with two outer walls in two shades of green.. you can also see one of my new rigging poles that were made specially for Me by NELS0N the long net man of hear,, really good bit of kit that can be removed as they insert into ground anchors.. which is great as once removed then Her indoors cant complain whilst mowing the grass .. a roof, fridge and sky t.v. would really be good .. Regards..
  12. I rigged up this net last week, 25 yards approx., 4" stretched mesh by 25 meshes deep in 3z nylon,, the outer Walls are 24" stretched mesh by 2 meshes deep in a nice and light 5z nylon..... The top and bottom lines are 1.5mm braided polyester , and the Walls are locked onto the lines . Rigging twine is 6z ,, . Really light in weight , even when wet , which is a bonus . Regards..
  13. theres a guy up Alexandria makes all his nets like that Y.I.S Leeview Surely Knot !!!
  14. Sorry to here that Joe,, there's deffo a problem with the Twines, no matter what way one loads the needle the defects in the twine, nowt to do with agouti though, but he needs to get this issue sorted with the manufacturers, I think a new fitter/engineer is what the twine makers need as the present one is a cock ... Regards..
  15. Hears the picture of the 50 p meshes .. Regards..
  16. Sorry Leeview ,, I never even looks at the video regarding which way the twine was coming of the spool,, I have always found if ones loading the needle whilst the spools vertical then good luck to them as its damned impossible to get the spool sitting on a surface as the inner cone spool usually sticks out more ! on the left or the right ,, There is left hand lay and right hand lay twines ,, all down to the folk that actually spool the twine up,, .. I was working away real and nice the other day then ,,, !!! Twisty !! its a fault ! .. picture to follow ............ ..
  17. If the spool of twine has a defect in it then no matter how one loads a needle, or load the needle from vertical or horizontal position then there's not much you can do ,, apart from hank as much of the defect of the spool and if ones lucky there can be twine to be saved that will knit good .. I was busy the other day loading a Norwegian type needle which the spool of twine was horizontal and I noticed whilst loading the needle the twine had a mind of its own!,, the diameter of the twine suddenly took a turn for the worst .. I stopped loading, cut the twine and started hanking the twine of
  18. I let Her indoors renew the lines once a year , 50p per yard for the 6mm and 60p per yard for the 8mm .. ... mates rates .. Yes I no , I do spoil Her ...

  20. If You want the best then look no further ,, Regards..
  21. I made this a few months ago .. 12.5 yards set onto 5 yard lines.. 4 1/2" mesh , with 10/9 spun nylon, 20/12 spun poly, and 20/6 double stranded spun poly twines.. Regards..
  22. the first post knocked it for me,, its not just about the netting its the whole set up , I have always used the traditional set up and have tried a few of these quick-set kits in the past and none swayed me into giving up the old way of netting until I gave a Nelson net a try ,, Regards..
