hi merle, how long you been into lurchers and owned working lurchers for,??
to come out with a statement like that...
10 years nearly mate iam 26 now, should be merle26 now lol.
Generally as a rule a good dog is made by bringing up correctly and training well to get the best out of the dog,,and not bought,,as most good dogs sell themselves before the need to be advertised. There is always exceptions to this but i think they are very rare.
As for a dog working good for one person and not another i think it depends on the breeding and the way the dog has been kept/worked. A greyhound is anyones dog,,a collie is not !
wa dogs r in u gallery n gay boi
110 % percent dog on the lamp, but i have no lamp !!!! so i will swap her for a lamp, so i then have no dog !!!! pmsl very clever haha.
I`me afraid we`ll have to agree to disagree on that one one merle24, my own pup has plenty of speed, and from getting hands on with the Other rough coated pups they are built to run too,
which is i assume what you mean you mean when you say line back to the greyhound,
If you mean for size, then i don't think that's necessary as most of the pups are doing ok for what they were bred for,
and even then if it`s size your on about i`de probably line back to a bigger wheaton/grey or bull grey
If anything i`de say that these pups with a few seasons under their belt would be ideal to line back t
Nice pups Paul,,turned out well,,,imo though that line needs greyhound back to it mate,,as the wheaton and the bull both terrier blood have gelled together well,,maybe a bit to well to for a allround lurcher,,,crackers all the same mate.
So you still do have a pup left to give him i take it, if so you should stick to youre word and give him a pup, not charge him £50 thats a slap in the face for him mate, as you used his dog for stud and wouldnt have the pups if it wasnt for his helping hand. if you gave a mate a pup, that was youre choice and nothing to do with the other side of the matter what so ever.
Not entirely true to best honest, When its hot carp will be found in the upper layers of the water towards the surface, they will often take floaters off the surface, but in the mid day are oftern more content soaking up the suns rays, when it gets really hot they can be put off altogether, probably as the low oxygen levels make the fish lathargic, i have found the best times for fishing in these periods of heat is in the hours of darkness and very often the early hours of the morning just as it is comming light. This is just my opinion, hope it helps.
I would dissagree with you saying to use a running lead in the weed, its not a good idea because you wont be able to shed the lead, when fishing in weed you NEED the lead to come off on the take, this is not going to happen with a running rig system ! you need to use a fixed safty bolt clip, but dont pust the lead tale on far at all. once the lead falls off ypou will be amazed the difference it can make to landing a fish, trust me on this, running rigs in weed are a big no no imo.
I would advise 10 turns down the shank on the hook, and if youre gonna use light hooklenght of say 5lb, the line may pull throu the gap in the eye so you need to go throu the eye twice before you whip the ten turns around the shank. the tubing needs to be loose on the shank aswell, this keeps the bait close to the hook but when the fish tries to eject the bait by blowing out the silicone slides letting the bait move away from the shanke giving better seperation.
Sounds like youve been on ebay or something to buy some cheap bait, i am not being rude mate but these types of bait are utter shite, they have no goodness to the fish what so ever its just the flavour attracting the fish, its cost about 1 quid a kilo to make and is semolina and soya flour plus powderered colouring and a flavour.
Carp bait is a subject that we could go on and on about, and theres many a book devoted to the wide veriety of baits that can be used to trick our quarry. Alot depends on what level of fishing your talking about, hard lowstock venues or easy highly stocked rod benders, are you waggle fishing or fishing on bite alarms ? theres alot of variables to consider also the stck of other nusance fish will play a role in bait choice.
The red peperami does work ive caught loads of carp on it iand i know some very hard venues that have fell to this when allaround were using boilies, sweetcorn is a wi
Ok mate, i have had lots of fish chucking into the weed will stringers or pva bags, but i have also lost alot of fish doing this, there is one very important point and that is that you must make sure that your lead with drop off the clip with the slightest of pressure, it is amazing really what a difference ditching the lead makes, the fish seem to come straight to the top and over the weed instead of straight through it.
Know you say the weed is thick and tall and it can be a bit risky casting staight into it, not just for our confidence but also for the safty of our quarry, i would perso
