  1. Those runs were very early in the year, to be fair. I am not sure Turk would have beaten one or two of Don's other dogs.Did Turk win any competition? look at the footage on most of the coursing stuff ,, alot of the match footage are running green hares, thats when you see the big bags and the dogs missing less,, then look at the footage in the depths of winter once they have been ran a bit and slimed down december / january,, lots more misses,, alot less caught,,, you only see they best bits on dvds.

  7. Know a few dogs bust up running into each other doing that mate, broken ribs, smashed up sholder,,,, no need to double up on lamped rabs to get a dog fit imo,, they can see each other in day but not at night on lamp,, nasty collisions,, you will end up with a bust dog mate.
  8. Nice wright up,, but why do you slip both dogs on a lamped rabbit ?????? asking for disaster imo.
  9. I would rate collie x greyhound for a first lurcher. Theres good and bad in everything though.
  10. Collie x grey would do you well for a first dog,,, depending on the ground a first x would be upto the job.
  11. They guy has just stated that they are from stock his mate has line bred for 20years, so whats your problem. Everybody wants names,, lines etc,, well if truth be know its the same old names and lines getting thrown in all the time. There only know because they were matched or because they mixed in the wright circles,, they get talked about seen ran then all a sudden there a top line, bullshit. Theres blokes who keep there self to thereself and line breed there stock, using outcross now and then when they have to,, they maynot be in the circles, they may not match there dogs, they may not b

  18. ah a big fan of cesar milan i see ... so you reckon dogs have no idea about time ... what about the dog that knows when its best buddy is due home from school and waits by the window at the same time every day ??? i have a funny feeling he has time appreciation and awarnes ... the driving force behind all canine work is to kill ... so guide dogs for the blind want to kill ??? hearing dogs want to kill ??? aes dogs want to kill ??? you are talking about beliefs that are very much in the past my friend the world of canine behavioure has moved on rapidly in the last few years and a great many of
  19. Dogs can utalise carbs thats why its in dry dogfood, enzymes in the gut see to that, amylase to be spercific. In the wild a dog has no acess to carbs or more importantly the brain to know it can be utalise,, they hunt meat not maize or wheat lol. and use the protein fraction for growth and tissue repair and the fats they use to replace and store as energy,, the incluson of carbs in a dogs balanced diet is useful and calls for less fat which is longterm healthier. Got agree dogs run better on last nights meal, its stored and ready to burn,, the best dogs i have seen were kept like a pac
  20. I wouldn't even feed him that evening, its hunger that drives animals in the wild, wolves might not eat for 3 or 4 days and its the hunger that drives the hunt ,and after running and hunting up to 5 or 6 hours and running possibly 15 miles they might make a kill if lucky, if not they do it next day,,a hungry dog is a must if you want to get the best out of him,,if you think a dog is going to drop after a few runs because hes hungry, their is something serious wrong with his everyday feed,,best of luck,, Spot on,,dogs get fed after you come back from lamping or after decided not to g
