  1. hi woolyback you could give the brass a scrub with a wire brush if you are worried about them.there isnt too much you can do about the rust just one of those things with coastal wildfowling main thing you have to watch for is the shot rusting in the wad because the pellets can fuse together making it a solid shot very dangerous.every now and then i will cut a cart up to see if its got rusty pellets if it does you can kind of assume the rest will so i cut them up and bin them just to be on the safe side
  2. hi tom when i load steel shot i use mms rather than shot size because as you say the commercial manufacturers dont use the same sizes and it becomes very confusing. not long to go now boys roll on the first
  3. i guess it really all comes down to having confidence in the carts that you use.there is nothing worse than having no confidence in your carts. really enjoyed your piece in this months sporting gun tom
  4. hi spikeo1 was it factory loaded steel carts you use or homeloads? i used to use factory steel loads but found like tom i was merely crippling my ducks so i tried fast homeloaded steel and i havent looked back.

    Tensmuir

hi selvey the island that is at tentsmuir can it be shot?does it flood over on the high tides?was down having a look at it yesterday in the day and fancied trying it cheers
  7. in my experience your better getting a cheap pair of waders off ebay for £35 that last a season or two rather than spend anything from £60 to £120 for a pair of camo waders from the top brands that last a season.cheap ones keep you dry as well as the expensive ones.its up to the individual.i know what ones id go for.
  8. iam by no means an expert but anything in excess of 1600fps works for me in 4mm steel.but after market choke tubes are a must in my opinion
  9. [] load your own steel carts, you can get fantastic fast loads that way.plus you can tailor them to your own needs.steel will kill as well as hevi shot if fired at the correct velocity
