I have 4 chessies {2 males and 2 females}. 2 workers and 2 pups that are being brought along quietly . that retrieve was ok but any good fowling dog will do that. chessie's are great dogs just do alot of research before finally deciding if they are the dogs for you . there is alot to consider before buying one and there are a few health issues with them so do your research first.

  3. Our female Devonshot Leottie at Northsolway {rosie} is due her 1st litter any day now to CH Chesabars Copper Reflection RN JH {two spots}. Both dogs have all health clearances Elbows. eyes. hips. and DM . This is a first in the UK for a Chesabars line and done by AI mating. Hope you dont mind me putting this on here admin.

  5. So if the family guard dog bit somebody trying to break into the house is there a possibility you could get done, and is there a chance the dog could get put down...? Was told recently by local plod that if my {guard} dog bites an intruder she would not be put down BUT if she mauled them badly enough she would be put down work that out

  12. Hi I would ask to get him MRI scanned as elbow problems dont really show up well on x-rays till the dogs are much older . Have you done the usual checked his pads for cuts/ thorns? has he taken a knock on his legs that you can remember? What did your vet advice you to do ? Donna

  14. Well if thats not telling the world where you shoot what the hell is????? sometimes its the "local" lads that can ruin the marshes all by themselves with mouthy couldnt care less attitudes if someone is in "your usual creek" get out of bed earlier in the morning then!

  17. Ali N I've got kennels and had a few in for there hols every one of them are friendly and all come from familys with young kids. Im not in to cross beeds but they seem the best of the lot from my experince steadiness of the lab and working abilaty of the spaniel and yes it should be ready for some gentle work next season all the best with your pup when you get it

  20. Hi Dogs don't like the soft down on pigeons {other birds won't bother them} you done the right thing removing them . well done on the woodies there's none here
  21. if you'r worried about training a spanial then don't get a pointer get a lab or mebe a chessiepac bay retriever( can,t spell it) but they are very hardy and fantastic swimmers and large enough to retrieve any goose .they look like a very big lab with tight curly coat .bred in canada . Sorry Hily Chesapeake Bay Retrievers look nothing like a lab , some are not that big, our bitch is compact with curly coat and our dog is slightly taller with a wavy coat, They are an american breed and not for the novice to train
